Grade Reporting for Elementary (1 -5) Teachers Follow these steps to finalize your gradebook for End of Term grading. 1. Ensure that all assignments and grades have been entered into the Gradebook Grid for each class you teach. 2. Conduct Grade: a. Create an assignment in your Conduct class. b. Enter a Conduct grade for each student. This will be their 9 week Conduct Grade on the Report Card. 3. Enter report card comments and Effort grades for each class: a. In the ‘Assignments’ menu, select ‘Required Assessments’. September 2012 Page 1 Grade Reporting for Elementary (1 -5) Teachers b. Click in the first student’s comment cell and push the space bar. Select your comment from the available list. Comment number/letter combinations can also be entered just like other grades; click in the cell, type the code and push enter. c. Repeat this process for Effort and Conduct scores. Effort and Conduct can also be entered just like other grades; click in the cell, type the letter, and push enter. d. To fill the column, enter a grade for the first student and then click in the next cell down (the next student in the list). Then press and hold the Shift key and the 8 key (to type an asterisk *). This will repeat the grade from the above cell down for the entire column. e. Repeat these steps for each class you teach. 4. Now that all grades and report card comments are complete, finalize your gradebook: a. Click the drop-down arrow on the right side of the Assignment header row and select ‘Finalize Grades…’ b. Select the term you need to finalize. Click ‘Save’. September 2012 Page 2 Grade Reporting for Elementary (1 -5) Teachers c. This message will appear for the class you just finalized: d. You can make grade changes by selecting ‘change’ in this message. De-select the desired term and click ‘Save’. Make your grade changes and follow the steps above to finalize this gradebook again. e.
