Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) Revised Guidelines In the FAPA Leaders’ Meeting for the Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance: A Commitment to Action held last September 2015, the body has committed to join the FAPA AMR Four Frame Comic Contest. The revision in this guidelines refers to the changes in the deadline of submission of entries. Four-Frame Comic Competition ……..PLEASE REFER TO THE FOLLOWING COMPETITION RULES….. FAPA Four-Frame Comic Competition I. Target: This comic competition is mainly to promote antimicrobial awareness and its responsible use for prevention of antimicrobial resistance to the general public. II. Eligibility: Must be from FAPA member association. The Member Association hosts the local competition within their country, and the winner will be submitted to FAPA Secretariat to compete at the international level. III. Prize: National Level, USD$100 for each first winner International Level, USD$1000 for 1st winner, USD$500 for 2nd place, USD$300 for 3rd runner IV. Drawing requirements: Four-Frame Comic, Black/White or Colorful, A4 300 dpi resolution for digital comics (highly encouraged) V. Aims: FAPA supports WHO’s World Antibiotic Awareness Week which aims to increase awareness of global antibiotic resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health workers and policy makers to avoid the further emergence and spread of antibiotic resistance. II. Theme: “Antibiotics: Handle with Care”. The theme of the campaign, Antibiotics: Handle with Care, reflects the overarching message that antibiotics are a precious resource and should be preserved. They should be used to treat bacterial infections, only when prescribed by a certified health professional. Antibiotics should never be shared and the full course of treatment should be completed – not saved for the future. III. Host:Federation of Asian Pharmaceutical Associations (FAPA) IV. Co-Host:FAPA 18 Member Associations & Asian Young Pharmacist Group (AYPG) V. Eligibility:General Public 1. Open to the public. You may join as an individual or as a group comprised of not more than 4 members. 2. Pharmaceutical associations will host the local competition, and the 1st place winner will be forwarded to FAPA Secretariat and will represent their country to compete internationally. 3. Pharmaceutical Association agrees to post the entries in their websites or in Facebook page to maximize promotion. They should also display in exhibit in one of their events to reach as many readers as possible. VI. Submission: Pharmaceutical associations can set their own timelines. But the submission of entries for International competition must be November 13, 2015. VII. Awards: 1. Local-level: Every participants in the local-level competition will be given a Certificate of Participation. For each 1st-place from each local-level competition (but not winning the 1st~3rd place in the international-level competition) will be awarded USD$100. 2. International-level: 1st-place from each local-level will continue to compete at the internal-level competition. For the international-level, the international 1st-place will be awarded USD$1000, 2nd-place USD$500, and 3rd-place USD$300. VIII. Review & Scoring Items Content Weight Fit to Theme Theme: “Antibiotics: Handle with Care” 40% Comic Continuity Story is told in flow of four-frame; Content is smooth and easy to understand; Facilitate the viewers to comprehend the meaning of this competition and the theme 20% Comic Integrity In terms of aesthetics, interesting, artistic 30% Popularity Contest Votes: Online votes 10% IX. How to Join the Competition: 1. Local-level Competition A. The detail rules of this part will be given by each of our FAPA member association. B. Your submission to the local-level competition should follow the rules and regulations made by our FAPA member associations. The language used in making the artwork could be in your local language. E. Make sure on your submission artwork, you have your own personal or team contact detail information for our FAPA member association to contact you well. F. Member associations can regulate the local-level competition depending on the real local situation and the best way to conduct the local-level competition. However, our FAPA member associations should take into account the 1stplace (of the local-level) will have to join in the international-level competition and there’s are rules and regulations decided by FAPA herself which should be abided by. G. Our FAPA member associations should send to FAPA Secretariat their official entry for the international level competition on November 13. 2. International-Level Competition All 1st-place from local-level competitions are requested to submit their refined by email to our FAPA Secretariat and also carbon-copy to your local-level FAPA member association. How to Refine Your Artwork and Send to the Secretariat A. Only .JPG electronic file is allowed. B. Size of file should be no smaller than 10Mb. (Beware the winner’s artwork will be printed in poster; therefore, please be really careful with the resolution; it should be in fine enough resolution) C. Four frames and title of your artwork should be in a same picture. D. All words in the picture should be translated into English! (with help from our local FAPA member associations) E. This picture should be sent as Email attachment. F. Dimensions: Size of page/canvass must be A4. F. X. Notifications: 1. No limit to number of artwork submit to the local-level competition for single participant or team. 2. Local-level competition accept submission from September 19th to November 12. The submission should follow detail regulation provided by our FAPA member association. 3. For the local – or international – level comic competition are both open to FAPA Member Associations and constituents. 4. Participants’ misconduct behaviors, illegal violent of copyright, or plagiarism will be seriously reviewed and discussed. 5. Participant submission of artwork to join in this campaign simultaneously grants the right of use the artwork in any non-for-profit form of usage in the future to FAPA. 6. FAPA as host of this campaign we have right at all time to revise the campaign. 7.
