Create a thematic map showing the absolute location of global tourist sites (TEKS 6.3D) Create a graph (any type) showing data of their choice related to tourist sites from around the world (TEKS 6.3D) Pose a series of 3 questions about patterns they see in the data about tourist sites (TEKS 6.3B) Identify and label the location of each world country that contains a global tourist site (TEKS 6.4F) Create an advertisement for a tourist site of their choice (TEKS 22.D) Present their advertisement orally (TEKS 22.C) Use standard grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation (TEKS 22.E) Use proper citations to avoid plagiarism (TEKS 22.F) Due Date: September 29th, 2015 The Project: Students are required to create a variety of products for this project. Each product focuses on tourist sites from around the world. They must create: A thematic map showing the absolute location of 25 sites of their choice (from the list provided – you may choose additional sites with approval from Ms. MJ) with the countries labeled. Your map must include: o a title, date, author, orientation (compass rose), legend, scale, border, appropriate symbols, sources A graph that includes data of their choice related to tourist sites from around the world (for example, a bar graph showing the number of tourist sites per continent) Three questions about patterns they see in their data about tourist sites (Must be at the analyze level of Bloom’s or higher) An advertisement for a tourist site of their choice (May be a pamphlet, Powerpoint, Prezi, poster, video, etc. – student’s choice). The advertisement must include: o a minimum of 8 images, a political map of the area, a minimum of 1 paragraph (5 sentences) explaining the history of the site, and a list of 10 reasons to visit your site. Presentation: Students will then present their project in a roundtable format in class on either September 29th or September 30th.
