W STATE TEAM MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION Employer Netball WA Reports to Operations Manager – West Coast Fever & High Performance Department West Coast Fever and High Performance Location Based in Perth – State Netball Centre, Wembley Sports Park Position Overview The State Team Manager will be responsible for the welfare of the coaches, support staff and players. Core Responsibilities Accountabilities Overview of Tasks Development & Planning Training Program Notify all team officials of training schedules and professional development sessions, including any cancellations or alterations. Liaise with the West Coast Fever and High Performance Umpire Coordinator regarding organisation of umpires at training or match practice sessions. Liaise with Operations Manager – West Coast Fever and High Performance to arrange practice matches against teams as requested by the Head Coach. In consultation with the Head Coach seek approval in writing to the Netball WA Convenor of Selectors and West Coast Fever Assistant Coach and High Performance Coach regarding the invitation of additional athletes to a training session/s. Be responsible for all Netball WA equipment. Accommodation Compile a rooming list in consultation with the Head Coach and provide a copy to the Game Development Manager Check accommodation washing, pool recovery/fitness facilities and local area for grocery, restaurants, chemist, hospitals etc. During Championships Manage the team during each match of the National Netball Championships including being responsible for the set-up of the team bench and for all match paperwork before, during and after each game. W STATE TEAM MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION Act as a senior member of the travelling party responsible for all matters pertaining to the athletes and team official’s including; flights, accommodation, transport, team photo, player misconduct, championships administration, budget and meals In the event of player or team official misconduct the Team Manager is responsible for immediately reporting the name of any person/s that has/have not adequately fulfilled the expectations of Netball WA or not adhered to the Netball WA Code of Conduct to the Operations Manager – West Coast Fever & High Performance Liaise with Game Development Manager regarding total amount, allocation and transfer details of all monies required for the National Netball Championships. Manager will control all monies and keep receipts for all expenses for players and team officials In conjunction with the Head Coach prepare and plan a daily timetable and provide a copy to Game Development Manager, Operations Manager – West Coast Fever & High Performance, team officials and players Organising Follow up with individual players to ensure all athlete levies, agreements and uniform fees have been submitted by the due date to Game Development Manager Liaise with the Game Development Manager to organise the finances and equipment for the State Team Program Liaise with Operations Manager – West Coast Fever and High Performance regarding meals during the tournament Organise and obtain team photos for team and support staff also obtaining extra copy of the team photo for the Netball WA archives Administration Adhere to all Netball Western Australia policies and procedures regarding the State Team Program In consultation with the Head Coach, provide names of a team captain/s and a W STATE TEAM MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION vice captain/s to Game Development Manager for board notification Provide Game Development Manager with photocopies of driver’s licenses for all Team Officials Ensure that all Netball Australia and Netball WA paperwork is signed and returned by all players and officials by the specified date to Netball WA Game Development Manager Distribute player and officials evaluation forms at the completion of the National Netball Championships Submit to Netball Western Australia a State Team Program report following the National Championship including a copy of the budget / expenditure Practical Involvement Attend an officials induction, all scheduled team professional development sessions and a post National’s review as required Attend team trainings Attend the National Netball Championships Key Interactions Strategic: GM – West Coast Fever & High Performance GM – Community Netball Operational: Key competencies Operations Manager – West Coast Fever & High Performance Game Development Manager State Team Head Coach State Team Assistant Coach State Team Apprentice Coach State Team Physiotherapist State Team Analyst Athletes and Parents Essential Criteria - Current Netball WA registration - Experience working with groups of athletes within the relevant age group. - Previous experience in team management at an Association level or higher, including working to a budget. - Experience in working independently and as an integral part of a team. - A philosophy, ethics and attitude in line with the State Team Program W STATE TEAM MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION - Understanding of sport culture and organisations, including working with volunteers. - Ability to set priorities, plan work programs, meet deadlines and manage time effectively. - Commitment to advocacy of Netball WA - Commitment to promoting Netball WA’s philosophies and Athlete and team culture - Current Working with Children Check - A current “C” class WA driver’s license Appointment Term 2-year term with the option of a third year (maximum appointment). Hours of Work The nature of the role will require out of work hours and weekend work inclusive of interstate travel as required. Remuneration State Team Managers shall be provided an honorarium of $1,200.00 per annum on completion of the program (including the Program Review).
