Open Youngstock
Open to ages 1, 2 or 3 Year Olds; no foals.
Handlers must be competent for size of exhibit. Over the age of 16 for handling colts
Class 2
Mountain and Moorland – In Hand
Class will be split if sufficient entries.
Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.
Class 3
Open In-Hand
Any Height, age, type. No Foals
Handlers must be competent for size of exhibit. Over the age of 16 for handling colts
Class 4
Young Handlers
Handlers under the age of 16 and open to any breed/height/age. No Stallions.
Class 5
In hand Coloured
Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.
Class 6
In Hand Cob
Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age.
Class 7
In Hand ROR
Stallion, mare or gelding, any age.
Class 8
In Hand Veteran
Stallion, mare or gelding, 15 years and over.
Class 9
Novice Horse/Pony – 1st Year of competition
Stallion, mare, colt, filly or gelding, any age within their first year of showing.
Class 10
In Hand Turnout
Any age, Height or Type.
In-Hand Championship For 1st & 2nd place in all of the above classes to take place at the
end of class 10

Open Ridden
Stallion, mare or gelding, any type, 4 years old and over. Rider any age

Most Promising Combination
Stallion, mare or gelding. Any type 4 years and over. Judge is looking for the most promising combination of horse
and rider in their first year of showing together.
Class 27
Ridden Show Pony Type
Stallion, mare or gelding. 4 years and over.
Class 28
Ridden Hunter/Sports Horse/Pony Type
Stallion, mare or gelding. 4 years and over.
Ridden Championship for 1st & 2nd Place in all of the above classes to take place at the end of class 28
Champion and Reserve Champion from the In-hand and Ridden championship
will then go forward to become
Supreme Champion of the Leamside Equestrian
Disclaimer
Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law
responsible, neither the organisers, Leamside Equestrian, nor any agent, employee or representative of these
bodies accepts any liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury, illness to horses, owners, riders, grooms,
spectators, land or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of
contract or in any other way whatsoever.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY - By entering you are deemed to have agreed to the following:
1. All persons enter the show and its grounds at their own risk & Leamside Equestrian Limited accept no
responsibility for injury, accident, or loss.
2. The organisers reserve the right to ask any competitor to leave the arena if they feel any animal is unfit to
compete or being unfairly treated.
3. Lead rein ponies are to be shown in a snaffle bridle with the lead rein attached to the noseband only.
4. No spurs to be worn by any junior rider (16 years & under).
5. All horses/ponies competing in ridden classes to be 4 years old or over.
6. Age of rider/handler is as that on the date of the show.
7. Hard hats to current BSI standards must be worn by all handlers aged 14 years and under in the in-hand
classes and at all times when mounted, irrespective of age. Chin straps must be fastened. And purpose made
riding boots at all times when mounted. If a Patey Hard is worn a disclaimer MUST be signed.
8. It is the responsibility of the competitors to be at the arena on time.
9. No person will enter the arena unless required to do so to compete or at the specific request of the judge.
10. Participants do so at their own risk.
11. The organisers will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury to persons, animals or property.
12. All persons must be vigilant of vehicles and animals moving round the show area and should abide by the
spectator/horse only zones and prohibited areas at all time.
13. Horses/ponies must be supervised at all times. Horses/ponies MUST NOT be left tied to vehicles including
horseboxes unattended.
14. NO GALLOPING anywhere on the show ground unless requested by a judge.
15. Rubbish must be placed in the bins provided or removed from the show ground.
16. Vehicles must not be mucked out on the show ground or any part of the farm.
17. It is compulsory for horses to have Public Liability Insurance.
18. Colts, two years old or over must be suitably bitted and led by a handler who is competent and able to
keep control at all times.
19. Any person behaving inappropriately will be asked to leave and will be disqualified.
20. All travelling horses and ponies must have a valid passport with them. All horses must be fully vaccinated.
21. The organiser reserves the right to cancel, alter, amend, split or amalgamate classes according to entries and
circumstances.
22. All competitors should consider carefully the classes they enter. No refunds/swap of classes will be
given under any circumstances whatsoever.
23 Any complaints must be lodged, in writing, with the show secretary within 30 minutes of the close of the class. A
deposit of £30 must be left which will be returned if the complaint is upheld.
24. Smoking is prohibited within the grounds. A smoking point is by the double gates at the entrance only
and please use bins provided.
25. Children under the age of 16 years must be supervised by an adult at all times.
26.THE JUDGE’S DECISION IS FINAL. Anyone acting discourteously to any judge/steward/organiser will be
asked to leave the grounds.
27. Vehicles including trailers parked on the premises are left entirely at the owner’s risk.
28. All horses entered must be of good health and have appropriate up to date vaccinations and worm control to
prevent any risk to other horses.
Most of all we ask that all competitors are respectful to each other, our
stewards, liveries, staff, facilities and property.
