This show is affiliated to The Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK) Both owner and the
rider/exhibitor need not be a member of CHAPS (UK) nor must the horse or pony be registered
with CHAPS (UK) to compete in the classes. The CHAPS (UK) Championship Show will be held on
30th August - 1st September 2012.

Ring 1: Ridden Ring – Ménage - 9:00am Judge: TBC
Class 1: Nursery Novice Ridden Horse/Pony not to have won three firsts under saddle in any discipline. Open
to mare, stallion or gelding 4 years and over. No cantering with the others - Snaffle bridles only.
Class 2: Novice Ridden Open to mare, stallion or gelding 4 years and over. Snaffle bridles only.
Class 3: Mountain & Moorland Novice Ridden Open to ponies registered with their respective breed societies
of Highland, Fell, Dales, Connemara, New Forest, Welsh C and D, Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A and B.
Stallion, Mare or gelding 4 years and over. Pony not to have won a prize of £10 or more.
Class 4: Mountain & Moorland Open Ridden Open to ponies registered with their respective breed societies of
Highland, Fell, Dales, Connemara, New Forest, Welsh C and D, Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A and B.
Stallion, Mare or gelding 4 years and over. Class will be split if entries warrant. The two highest placed
exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the Equifest championship show.
Class 5: Ridden Part Breds Stallion, Mare or Geldings, 4 years and over. Exhibits in this section must be
registered in the part bred section of their respective breed society. Registration numbers must be stated on the
entry form. Horses and ponies will not be ridden at the final. Riders any age. The two highest placed exhibits
not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest championship.
Class 6: Ridden Veteran open to stallion, mare or gelding 15 years and over. 1st - 3rd place will be awarded
with a 15+ Rosette & qualify to compete at the 15 Plus 2012 Championship Show.
Class 7: Foreign Breeds Ridden open to stallion, mare or gelding 4 years and over. (Friesian, Andalusian,
Lipizzaner, fjord, Icelandic etc)
Class 8: Pure, Anglo and Part Bred Arab Ridden open to mare or gelding 4 years and over.
Ridden Ring Championship: All competitors placed 1 st and 2nd in classes 1- 8 are eligible to
compete.
Judge: TBC – Not Before 1.00pm
Class 9: CHAPS (UK) Novice Ridden Pony – 4 years and over, any type.
Class 10: CHAPS (UK) Novice Ridden Horse 4 years and over, any type.
Class 11: CHAPS (UK) Open Ridden Qualifier, 4 years and over, any height.
Class 12: Ridden Piebald/Skewbald open to stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years and over. Rider any age. The
two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest championship.
Class 13: Open Ridden Cob open to mare or gelding, 4 years and over, exceeding 148cms but not exceeding
155cms.Riders any age. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant
Equifest championship.
Class 14: Ridden Hacks Open show hacks, mare or gelding 4 years and over exceeding 148cms but not
exceeding 160cms. Rider any age. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the
relevant Equifest championship.
Class 15: Open Ridden Small Hunter open to mare or gelding, 4 years and over, exceeding 148cms but not
exceeding 158cm. Riders any age. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the
relevant Equifest championship.
Class 16: Ridden Hunter open to mare or gelding, 4 years and over exceeding 153cms, Riders any age. The two
highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest championship.
Class 17: Ridden Riding Horse mare or gelding, 4 years and over Smalls exceeding 148cms but not exceeding
158cm, Large exceeding 158cm. Riders any age. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will
qualify for the relevant Equifest championship.
Ridden Ring Championship: All competitors placed 1 st and 2nd in classes 9- 17 are eligible to
compete. The Spooners Perpetual Salver will be awarded to the Ridden Champion.

Ring 2: In-Hand - 9:00am - Judge: TBC
Class 18: In-Hand Young Stock open to colt, filly or gelding, 3yrs and under. Any breed/type.
Class 19: In-Hand Novice open to any breed, age, and height. Combination not to have won more than three
firsts.
Class 20: CHAPS (UK) Open Young stock Qualifier; 1, 2 or 3 Year Olds; any type, no foals.
Class 21 CHAPS (UK) Open In-Hand Qualifier, any height. Any age, no foals.
Class 22: In-Hand Piebald/Skewbald open to stallion, mare or gelding. and skewbald, 4 years and over. The
two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest championship.
Class 23: In-hand Cob, Hunter, Riding Horse/Pony open to stallion, mare or gelding, any age and height.
Class 24: In-hand Thoroughbred Pure or Part open to stallion, mare or gelding, any age and height.
Class 25: In-Hand part bred or Unregistered open to stallion, mare or gelding, Any age.
Class 26: In-Hand Junior Handler open to mare or gelding, 4yrs and over. Handler 16 yrs and under.
Class 27: Intermediate Handler open to stallion, mare or gelding. Any breed, age, and height. Handler up to 25
yrs.
Class 28: Senior Handler open to stallion, mare or gelding. Any breed, age, and height. Handler 40 yrs +.
AM In Hand Championship: All competitors placed 1st and 2nd in classes 18-28 are eligible to
compete.
Ring 2: In-Hand - Not Before 12.30pm - Judge: TBC
Class 29 : In-hand Veteran open to stallion, mare or gelding 15yrs – 19 any height. 1st- 3rd place will be
awarded with a 15+ Rosette & qualify to compete at the 15 Plus 2012 Championship Show.
Class 30: In-hand Veteran open to stallion, mare or gelding 20yrs + any height. 1st- 3rd place will be awarded
with a 15+ Rosette & qualify to compete at the 15 Plus 2012 Championship Show.
Class 31: Mountain & Moorland Young Stock In-hand open to ponies registered with their respective pure
breed societies of Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A, B,C & D, Highland, Fell, Dales, Connemara, New Forest.
Colt, filly or gelding. 3 years and under. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify
for the relevant Equifest championship.
Class 32: Mountain & Moorland In-hand Small Breeds open to ponies registered with their respective pure
breed societies of Shetland, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Welsh A and B. Stallion, mare or gelding 4 years and over. The
two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest championship.
Class 33: Mountain & Moorland In-hand Large Breeds open to ponies registered with their respective pure
breed societies of Highland, Fell, Dales, Connemara, New Forest, Welsh C and D. Stallion, mare or gelding 4 years
and over. The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest
championship.
Class 34: In-Hand Foreign Breeds open to stallion, mare or gelding open to stallion, mare or gelding. Friesian,
Andalusian, Lipizzaner, fjord, Icelandic etc. Any age.
Class 35: In-Hand Coloured open to stallion, mare or gelding. Spots, paints, dun, palomino, piebald and
skewbald. Any age and height.
PM In Hand Championship: All competitors placed 1st and 2nd in classes 29- 35 are eligible to
compete.

15+ Horse & Pony Events Qualifiers:
To qualify for the 2012 Championship Show the first, second and third place horse/pony in
the following classes: will each receive a Qualification Card. To enter the Championship Show
the rider/handler and horse/pony must register with 15+ Horse & Pony Events within 28
days of the qualifying show date. Further information concerning the membership and what

Directions: On the A140 between Eye & Scole take the B1118 Signposted Stradbroke.
Follow this road for approx 5 miles through Oakley and past Hoxne. Keep on this road,
around the S bends and keep going. Take the junction signposted Wingfield Green. Turn
Right at the Common, we are situated less than half a mile on the right hand side of the road.
There will be show signs to follow from the A140. Postcode will work in a sat nav.

GWC Show Rules & Regulations:
1. No communication with our chosen judges is allowed ~ if you are found to be doing
this; you will face immediate disqualification and will forfeit your entry fees.
2. Strictly No Dogs.
3. No Smoking on showground unless in designated areas.
4. The judge’s decision is FINAL. Any abuse towards judges or officials will result in immediate
disqualification.
5. GWC Equestrian Centre shall not be held responsible for any loss, damage, injury or accident to
any person, horse or property.
6. No entry will be accepted without the correct entry fee. Phone entries will not be accepted.
7. Entry fees cannot be refunded unless a Doctors or Vets certificate is presented and dated after
the date of entry.
8. BSI standard PAS105, EN1384 and ASTMf1163 hard hats must be worn at all times when
mounted. Top hats are allowed in Concours d’Elegance classes by entrances over the age
of 18 years.
9. No trotting or cantering will be allowed in any public area, only in the designated warm up
area.
10. Stirrups must be run up or crossed over the saddle when not mounted.
11. Juniors 16 years and under are not allowed to wear spurs
12. Stallions or Colts must not be led/ridden by anyone under the age of 14 years.
13. All ridden horses/ponies must be 4 years old or over.
14. All horses and ponies should have 3rd party and public liability insurance.
15. Any objections to a ruling of an event must first be lodged with a £20 deposit at the secretary’s
tent.
16. The organisers reserve the right to be able to amend, change or cancel any class in the
schedule.
17. The organisers reserve the right to stop/prevent a horse/pony competing at any point for
whatever reason.
18. No Litter to be left anywhere and mucking out of horseboxes/trailers in the lorry park is
strictly forbidden.
Health and Safety:
GWC have taken all possible precautions to ensure the health and safety of everyone present.
For these to be effective all must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents
occurring and must obey the rules and regulations of the show organisers.
