SHOW RULES
Whilst Equine Influenza is not compulsory it is strongly encouraged. Equines showing signs of a cough
may be removed from the showground.
Please note, no refunds from any classes will be issued unless accompanied by a veterinary certificate.
PROTESTS – any member or exhibitor wishing to lodge a protest having reference to any person or
exhibits shall do so in writing to the Secretary and shall at the same time deposit the sum of £50. If on
investigation the protest is not sustained, the deposit may be forfeited to the funds of the Society. ALL
protests shall be delivered within an hour of the incident.
HOME PRODUCED – this show is only open to home produced showing exhibitors. No Equine to have
been produced in a professional yard and must be exhibited and shown by someone not involved in
professional producing in the last two years.
The definition of a Professional Producer/Trainer is - A person who undertakes the preparation and /or
production of ponies/horses belonging to other exhibitors for the show ring including at a show.

OF HOME PRODUCED COMPETITIONS AND ENTER IN THE SPIRIT INTENDED.EXHIBITORS
FOUND BREAKING THIS RULING WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE SHOW GROUND WITHOUT A
REFUND AND BANNED FROM ANY FUTURE SHOWS.
Neither the Society nor any of its officers or assistants shall be in any way responsible for any loss, injury
or damages that may happen (from any cause or circumstances whatever) to exhibitors or assistants or
other members of the public, or to any animal or property, or to any vehicle brought into the show ground,
or on premises used in conjunction with the show, or while entering or leaving the show ground.
Each exhibitor shall abide by and except as final the decisions of the Judges and Officials of the show.
Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any consequential or other loss, injury or damage done to or
occasioned by, or arising from any animal (including the spread of any infection or contagious disease) or
article exhibited or introduced to the show ground by him or her and shall indemnify the Society and its
Officials against all actions, proceedings, liabilities, claims, damages and expenses in relation to or
arising out of his or her entry or entries in the show.
All exhibits must be in possession of Equine Passports.
All stallions and Colts two years old and over must hold a current Stallion licence, unless other governed
by their breed society.
Brood Mares must be four years old or over and Foals must be at least four weeks on the day of the
show.
It is the responsibility of the exhibitors to enter their animals correctly in the appropriate classes.
In all classes animals must be sound and healthy, No veterinary inspection will be required except when
considered necessary by the Judge or on a protest being lodged, which will result in the cost being
payable by the owner / exhibitor.
There is no age limit for riders in Mountain & Moorland ridden and working hunter pony classes with the
exception of stallions in that riders must have attained their 11 th birthday before the 1st January of the
current year.
Handlers of Stallions and Colts must have attained their 14th birthday before the 1st January of the current
year.
Handlers of equines in In-hand classes aged 14 years and under must wear correctly secured British
standard skull caps / riding hats.
A fall of a horse or rider in any working hunter or ridden class will result in disqualification; the rider must
leave the arena on foot.
No ridden pony shall be shown on a lead rein except in classes which state that lead rein allowed.
All ridden equines must be 4 years old or over.
Exhibitors shall be responsible for the behaviour of their guests, assistants and for the consequences of
any conduct of such assistants, guest and all persons in charge of exhibits shall be subject to orders of
the stewards.

Any animal not sufficiently under control shall be removed from the show ring immediately at the request
of a Judge or Steward.
DOGS must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. Please pick up after your dog and dispose
of in the waste bins.
Please only use the designated areas for warming up your horse / pony.
Please follow any instructions from officials for parking of lorries, trailers and cars.
Litter please use litter bins or take litter home.
The Show reserves the right to cancel or amalgamate any Class with less than 3 entries or sub-divide
any class.
EVENING PERFORMANCES
Exhibitors should report to the collecting ring steward 20 minutes before their class for everything to run
smooth.
Top hats can be worn by exhibitors over 18 years old at the exhibitors own risk.

This show is affiliated to the International Showing Society and is a qualifier for the Royal
London Show 2014
First, second and third placed horses/ponies not already qualified in eligible classes will
qualify for the Champion of Britain Title classes to be held at the Royal London Show in
2014. Each qualified horse/pony will receive a qualification card in the ring which will
enable the owner to enter the Royal London Show, provided the owner and rider/handler
are, or become registered with the International Showing Society within 28 days of the
qualifying show. No horse registration is required. For up to date information telephone the

We will be running the Evening performance with NO breaks or stops, if you
are running late please speak to one of our stewards
who can inform the arena
Exhibitors should report to the collecting ring steward 20 minutes
