Role Name Product Manager (Comparison tables) Reporting To Lead product manager Direct Reports N/A Competency Level Manager Overall Job Purpose To develop customer enabling products with a specific focus on comparison tables and tools. Key Accountabilities These must be carefully tailored to the customer base and to be responsible for the development, delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of a defined set of comparison tables in line with consumer needs, business objectives and agreed propositions. • Engaging with the internal stakeholder matrix team to support the creation of new comparison based propositions, across all media surfaces Translating approved propositions and innovative ideas into product developments, defining digital tool feature specifications • Creating detailed prioritised product feature descriptions and delivery plans. Managing product set or product specific road maps. • Managing stakeholder input into the product development. • Specifying new or altered functionality for the assigned product or feature. • Recommending buy, build, customise or optimise decisions in relation to specific product developments • Where appropriate commissioning and managing third party providers of specific products and features. • Using appropriate tools to define and communicate the required digital product. • Working with the wider digital team to ensure that products and features are consistent with the wider web capability and the web standards for the organisation. • Working with channel owners, development team and the UX colleagues to evaluate user testing and validation of proposed/beta/deployed solutions • Ensuring compliance with relevant organisational standards, e.g.: accessibility, brand, SEO strategy for the assigned product set • Identifying new market opportunities, including those presented by new software and hardware platforms and form factors • Establishing the key success criteria for the product or product set and working with the marketing and CMI teams to monitor the performance of the product and its performance against key competitors and progress against relevant KPIs • Working with stakeholders to keep them appraised of product performance and on-going opportunities • Forensically analysing and interpreting the data set that supports the product performance • Continually looking for product improvements and optimisation across the experience, being the product champion, voice of the customer within the organisation • Communicating issues to the business and working closely with • Essential Requirements • • • • • • • • • • • • technical/ editorial to resolve/ mitigate issues Interpreting qualitative and quantitative user data to identify how an existing product can be improved Ensuring continuous product improvements post launch Extensive experience and success in delivery and on-going management of high quality, ground-breaking, comparison based digital products (e.g. proven track record of delivering complex, multiplatform products, including web, mobile, tablet and other media distribution platform such as TV and/or gaming networks) Strong team player, with demonstrable collaborative qualities Confident experience of working with and in Agile teams as Product Owner Proven capability in delivering comprehensive product specifications and in delivering complex products through lifecycle, to time, cost and quality criteria Proven experience in directing and managing third parties and demonstrable skills in project management Proven ability to make sound, evidence-based decisions, assessing risks and defending decisions and action Excellent problem solving and analytical skills to be able to present trade-offs for decisions (e.g. ROI implications) Excellent technical and user experience abilities allied with an excellent understanding of the Internet and the various platforms it supports Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a large body of stakeholders Innovative and consumer centric Must have good judgement in dealing with day to day issues Must have good knowledge of future technologies.
