Scope of Activities:
I offer my clients services on translation of technical publications from English into Russian and vice versa, as well as services
on consecutive interpretation. I'm an experience translator (translation experience since 2006), compliant with deadlines, committed
to quality, having blind typing skills, being the advanced user of all translation-relevant Microsoft Office functions and other highly
tailored software. In the course of work I use such a program as SDL Trados Studio 2011 SP2 that helps to achieve the maximum
possible linguistic unification during translation of homogeneous (often design) documents. While translating, I use my own
comprehensive collection of numerous dictionaries, glossaries, translation memories (TMs) and support materials.
Education:
I obtained a higher education. In the year of 2000 I graduated from the Leningrad State University named after A. S. Pushkin,
where I studied at the Foreign Languages Department, with a specialization in English and German philology.
Additional Training:
I improve my qualification on a regular basis by: watching movies and reading fiction in English, studying literature aimed for
translation specialists, as well as using various audio and video materials. Besides, in 1996 I finished a city guide training course
(organized by “Lingua” training center), in 1996, 1997 – the summer courses of English (organized by the educational facility named
Educational Services International), and in 2006 I successfully passed the international exam IELTS (by scoring 7.5).
Translation and Interpretation Experience:
–
2010 until now
I started my own firm in 2010 and since then I've been rendering translation services to various translation
companies and direct clients. I translate all the texts by myself, using outsourcing only when in need to hire a professional page
designer to help me with intricate page design, if any. Thanks to several voluminous orders offered to me by direct clients I also
learned how to form a group consisting of several translators, how to coordinate and to control the quality of their translation
activities.
2008 – 2010 – I worked as a full-time translator / editor of technical publications in “Prof Translating” translation company
(Saint-Petersburg).
2007 – 2008 – I carried out duties of a full-time translator / interpreter in “Transtech” translation company (Saint-Petersburg).
2006 – As an interpreter and translator I took part in the overhaul and piloting training project organized for foreign
maintenance and flight personnel by “SPARK” helicopter overhaul company (Saint-Petersburg).
Achievements:
Throughout my career as a translator and interpreter (and this stands for thousands of hours of interpretation and for tens of
thousands of translated text pages) I acquired successful working experience by fulfilling orders of various foreign companies, of
which I would like to mention the following ones: Juniper, Caterpillar, Honeywell, ABB, Hach, Samsung, Philips, Bosh & Siemens,
