TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATION
 I travelled to Launceston with my wife to have a look at the proposed accommodation at
Launceston. The units all look great and at least on a par with our final Perth rooms if not
a little better. The prices are on a par with Perth. There will be more precise details in my
next report. Jetstar looks like being our mode of transport, but again there is more
correspondence to be entered into. Costing of flights $340.00 approx. treasurer looking at
CDSE from Burwood RSL $5,000.00 to pay for air fares for bowlers, ladies at their own
cost. Managers and Side Captain were to be chosen from the team with Manager a
separate issue. Room costing is around $140.00 per bed room suite with $35.00 per extra
person. Costing on New Year’s Eve $40.00 not negotiable. Transport to venues will come
later buses from airport and return ok. Fours to be arranged for buses.
Last year we used four reserves do we pick four this year, selectors to pick the team with
the reserves. Flight to be straight through.
Great bowling,
Terry
PUBLICITY

WEBMASTER
Web Masters Report May 2015
We have experienced a few problems with the training of my assistant Pam due to
not being able to Logon on to the Admin section of the Web Site on her Laptop. At
Pam’s suggestion we are going to make a time to get together on a non-meeting
day so that we can have some uninterrupted training time. However Pam is keen
and under the circumstances is progressing well. She is updating a fair proportion
of the Events Calendar and when we can get rid of the glitches she will be
responsible for The events Calendar; the Ladies Auxiliary Page and Zone 20 Page.
I’ve asked Kevin Brady for Burwood RSL Club’s Email Address and an Email
Address for Ibis and have also asked The Zone 6 Delegates for an Email Address
for Maitland City Bowling Club so that I can offer exposure for them in our Web
Site’s Sponsors Box.
I also encourage the Zone Delegates to make more use of our Web Site
WEB SITE IMAGE REQUIREMENTS
IMPORTANT!!! Any sponsor who wants to advertise in the Sponsors Box MUST
provide us with an image exactly 150px High and up to 200px Wide. The File
Type has to be: .gif; .jpg or .png.

Sponsorship for web site are other Zones sponsors aloud on the web site also yes as they are
sponsoring our Zones feel that they can have free web site to enable extra cover to other Zones.
Merrylands RSL has sponsored Zone 5 will this allow to use web site. Through the chair going
back to match committee on bottom states we all play Two Bowl Triples in our constitution there
is nothing to stop Zones from playing three bowls triples but in the play offs it is Two Bowls
Triples 25 ends
As we adhered to the Royal conditions of play Two Bowl Triples this meeting voted to play Two
Bowl Triples 25 ends in each Zone and play offs

We have completed our Four’s, with the winner’s being from the Urunga Club. The Final
went to an extra end after the winners dropped a four on the last end. The winners were
the team of Terry Titmuss, Bruce Hardman, (Earring), Peter Dorsett and Warwick

at Forster.
We are now in the process of calling for nominations for our Pairs Championships and
hope to start early July
Our President Keith McWaters (Macca) is still a little unwell as they postponed his
medical procedure.
We had a get together day at Grafton yesterday with a head count of around 80 bowlers
taking to the greens (carpet) at Grafton. A good turnout, with our next one at Macksville
in June, so just contact me if anyone wants a game.
Arrangements are in progress for the annual playing of the Old Bar Shield against Zone 8
in early November.
Bruce Hardman
Delegate Zone 7

Zone 8
The annual Zone 8 vs Zone 6 day was held at Bulahdelah with 88 bowlers in attendance,
after all the inclement weather the games were able to go ahead under bright sunny
conditions. After all the formalities, the Ode was spoken, then Zone 8 President Charles
Fisher and Zone 6 President Bob Lind welcomed all bowlers and supporters, the cards
were called and play commenced, Zone 6 as the shield holders were slight favourites, at
the end of the day each Zone won 5 rinks each, unfortunately for Zone 6 Zone 8 had
better margins so once again they became holders of the shield 165 points to 157, with
the usual banter of “we are only lending it to you till next year” the shield was once again
in our possession. To Bulahdelah Bowling Club we say thanks, for a great roast
luncheon, the hospitality of the club kitchen staff, greens and bar staff was exceptional
and we all thank you, to Zone 6 the raffles you run today were well received and some
Zone 8 players took home some of the spoils, till we meet again next February we wish
you the very best and good bowling.
Zone 8 also completed their fours championships just recently, unfortunately numbers
were down again with only 7 teams competing, we are obligated to play regardless of
numbers. The Semi Finals were keenly contested with T Head, P Millen, K Towers and S
Pell against K Brand, D Penman, P Schroeder, and S Wilson. S Wilson’s team won and
in the other Semi Final G Gilford, B Wolters, I Furner and B Kershaw were defeated by F
Stephens, J Black, RB Mace and G Webster, the final was played under warm conditions
with S Wilson’s team getting away after 5 ends to a 11 / 0 lead, it was then going to be a
hard fought game for Webster’s team who fought their way back to within 4 shots, Stan
Wilson’s team prevailed 24 / 12, congratulations to the winning team they played well
and deserved the win, Let’s hope they can now do well in the State playoffs.
Our next social day is 22nd June at Port Panthers BC
