3. SCHOOL BUS TRANSPORTATION AGREEMENT
ROUTES & TRAVEL TIME
Global Network Transit Pte Ltd (“Global Network Transit”) provides school bus
service to students to and from school, before and after official school hours. The
travelling time to designated location varies between 30 to 45 minutes,
depending on traffic conditions. The school may require the school bus to reach
the school 10 to 15 minutes earlier before the morning assembly time. In the
afternoon, school buses only leave the school gates approximately 10 to 20
minutes after the dismissal to allow the children to have sufficient time to board
the buses. Kindly note that bus routing is based per area. Therefore, locations
situated far away from the school may then have to take longer journey time
than the average nearby locations.
BUSES
Bus attendants will be provided to all vehicles. Drivers and bus attendants will
ensure the safety of the students by enforcing and helping them wear seat belts.
The safety of children in school buses is a shared responsibility, and parents play a
role by reminding their children to belt up and be safe at all times no matter how
short the journey is.
STUDENT BUS CARD
A student bus card will be issued to every student taking Global Network Transit’s
School Buses. Students must keep the bus card with them at all times. This will
allow easy identification by the driver and bus attendant of all duly registered
students taking our morning and afternoon transport. The student bus card will be
a hardcover card that is issued for the whole term. A $10 surcharge on student
bus card is applicable for subsequent re-issue due to damage or loss.
COMMUNICATION
Parents should directly communicate with Global Network Transit regarding all
matters to avoid any miscommunication. If the child is not taking the school bus
on the day, please notify Global Network Transit at 6466 2754 or Transport
Coordinator at 8777 2168 or the Designated Bus Attendant (contacts to be
provided upon bus allocation) to avoid unnecessary waiting and delay to the
journey. In the event that a delay occurs due to unforeseen circumstances,
Global Network Transit transport coordinator will inform parents via SMS or phone
call.

In cases wherein no notification is received and the bus fails to arrive within 15
minutes of the schedule pick-up time, parents may:


send their children by taxi and same-day reimbursement of the taxi claims will
be done by Global Network Transit to the parents.
send their children on their own. However reimbursements are calculated on
a pro-rated basis and shall not exceed the equivalent taxi fare to and from
the school.
If parents are picking their child on their own without any prior incidents, please
inform our Transport Office at the earliest notice. This will allow us to inform the
driver and manage the pick-up timings accordingly. Please note that there will be
no refund for such cases.
PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF
Pick-up and drop-off time can be subjected to change with prior notice to
parents. This is usually due to a change in the number of or addresses of pick-up
or drop-off locations. However, such changes will be kept to a minimum during a
term. Students are advised to be at their designated pick-up point FIVE MINUTES
PRIOR TO PICK-UP TIME. A 3 minutes grace period shall be observed before
departing from the campus or at designated drop off locations. Parent or
guardian supervision is required at all pick-up and drop-off locations for Pre
School Jip and Janneke and Primary Level students up to and including grade 3
as well as other students that require special attention.
NEW APPLICATION
Please allow 5 working days for new applications to be processed. Application for
the bus service can only be processed if the application form has been
completed and acknowledged. Application forms are to be submitted via email
at reg@gntgroup.org.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
Parents must inform Global Network Transit about the change in address as soon
as possible. Global Network Transit will require 5 working days to process and
make necessary arrangements to determine if the new address is being covered
by the existing bus routes. Alternatively, parents may also check early with Global
Network Transit Transport Office if the new address is being covered by the
existing bus routes.
BUS FARE
There are 3 school terms in a full school year, and the bus fare charges are based
on per school term. Global Network Transit will be sending invoices to parents or
preferred billing address on the last month of each term, requesting for payment
of the bus fare for the new term. All new term payments are due on the first day
of the new term or 2 weeks after receiving the invoice, whichever date is the

latest. Late payment interest of 2% will be charged on overdue invoice and
reflected in the next billing.
INCIDENTAL REQUESTS (CLUB BUS, PLAYDATES)
Students with a regular contract who wish to cancel a bus, take the club bus or
request a playdate on a specific date for any reason, will need to send in an
online request to reserve a seat on the club bus, at least 48 hours prior to the
changed bus trip. The Club bus is limited to 19 seats per trip on a first come first
serve basis.
TERMINATION OF SERVICES
In cases wherein parents wish to terminate the use of the bus service of their child,
a written notice must be given to Global Network Transit Pte Ltd prior to the
termination of bus services. Global Network Transit will only allow refunds if the
withdrawal of services are within 3 weeks after the start of the term. These are the
latest dates for a withdrawal notice from the school transportation services for
Year 2014-2015: •
•
•
4 September 2014 for the first term of the school Year 2014-2015
30 Jan 2015 for the second term, and
30 Apr 2015 for the third term.
I.
For example, if a parent wishes to withdraw a child during the first term, he/she
should notify Global Network Transit Transport Office before 4 September 2014,
otherwise a full term will be charged.
Any withdrawal more than 3 weeks after the start of school term will not be
refunded, unless such a termination request is the result of a failure by GNT to
meet the basic safety guidelines for school bus transportation.
