Landowner consent form
.1. What is the Veolia Environmental Trust?.
The Veolia Environmental Trust (the ‘Trust’) is a registered charity and an environmental
body enrolled in the Landfill Communities Fund. It distributes funding received as Landfill
Tax Credits from Veolia Environmental Services (UK) plc to community and
environmental projects.
.2. Why does this form need to be completed?.
Operating in the Landfill Communities Fund, we are bound by the scheme’s governing
regulations and the resulting guidance. It is a stipulation of these requirements, and an
interest to the Trust itself, that monies spent are protected in terms of future use of the
site and ongoing compliance.
.3. Why is the Trust concerned with the site’s future use?.
All projects supported must have full general public access and be operated on a not for
profit basis at the time of project completion but also into the future. They should also
be maintained to maximise their operating life. The monitoring period required varies
depending on the amount of funding awarded and the work that is undertaken as a
result.
.4. We have worked with the Trust previously and this form has not been
required.
This form was introduced following revised guidance and the development of the Landfill
Communities Fund. This form allows us to establish the identity of the site owner and to
outline our requirements.
.5. What if I as the owner wish to sell the site or change the use?.
Any change in site ownership or use may impact the compliance of the funding awarded
by the Trust and so it is vital that we are informed of any changes that may take place.
.6. When is a restriction on the title of the site required?.
When the funding provided is towards a new building or when one of our largest grants
are made, we may seek a restriction from the Land Registry to ensure our funding is
recorded. If at any later stage the site were to change use or ownership, we are required
to seek the return of funding provided by the Trust, for instance if the facility is no
longer made available for use and booking by the community.
.7. Who can I speak to for further information?.
Please contact the projects department at the Trust on 01902 794677.
