Sample Letters of Consent
Where a party applies to the WAPC to subdivide land or to obtain planning approval in relation to
land, the applicant must demonstrate that the landowner/s have granted consented to the
application being made. This can be done by asking the landowner to provide a letter of consent.
The letter must include the details of the land, the landowner (or landowners if more than one) and
contain the signature of each owner.

This application was made by [name of applicant] in the capacity of [i.e. as planning consultant for
landowner].

The abovementioned landowner/s are not required to consent to this application by virtue of the
following reasons:

[for example, “By order of the Supreme Court dated 20 June 2013, in the matter of Dan
