Ancient Civilization Garis Ancient Egyptian Time Capsules! Task: Using your notes, book and your charts, you will work in groups to create a time capsule which demonstrates each of your elements. Go off the beaten path -- don’t just do “Pyramids” for achievements. Try to find something that no one else found. Step 1. Groups of 4 – These have been done for you! Step 2. Priest/Priestess...This student is responsible for researching the religion (including mummification) of ancient Egypt and creating the related artifacts for the time capsule. Vizier...This student is responsible for researching the politics AND social structure of ancient Egypt and creating the related artifacts for the time capsule. Scribe...This student is responsible for researching the achievements AND social structure of ancient Egypt and creating the related artifacts for the time capsule. *NOTE: All group members are responsible for creating the actual time capsule Step 3. Decide what artifacts should be included in your time capsule. You must have a minimum of four artifacts for each element of G.R.A.P.E.S. Each artifact must be created by someone in your group and it must be accompanied by an explanation of what it is and why you think it is important enough to go in the time capsule. These can be drawn, computer generated, or created. Step 5. Create a time capsule to contain all of the artifacts you and your group have created. The design should be neat, organized and reflective of Ancient Egypt. Step 6: Your time capsule and artifacts can be completed in digital format if you and your group chooses or on poster paper. Step 6. Be prepared to present your time capsule and its contents to the class.
