Facility Environmental Specialist Georgia-Pacific Crossett Paper Operations The facility Environmental Technician is responsible for assisting with the environmental compliance programs at the paper mill, providing day-to-day environmental support to operations, developing and maintaining required plans, permits and reports. The Environmental Technician is also responsible for assisting with training mill personnel and implementing Georgia-Pacific’s (GP) environmental risk management system. Basic Qualifications: Associate Degree or higher in environmental science, biology or other science or technical field Minimum of one year work experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel (creating spreadsheets) PowerPoint (creating presentations), and Adobe Valid Driver’s license Willing and able to climb ladders to access elevated sources for inspection purposes, launch and maneuver boats and all-terrain vehicles. Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs. (e.g. ice chests and batteries) Ability to respond to callouts with a flexible work schedule Ability to work on a 6-week rotating weekend duty schedule to support the paper mill. Ability to work in a hot or cold environment Preferred Qualifications: State wastewater licenses a plus Working knowledge of environmental regulations/requirements with emphasis on air, storm water, wastewater, SPCC, SARA, and hazardous/nonhazardous waste, including state specific requirements is preferred.
