Georgia Pacific’s Consumer Products Mill located in Crossett, Arkansas is seeking to hire an Environmental Engineer for Air Compliance. This position within the Environmental Compliance Team will be largely responsible for air permit compliance, and must have current knowledge of rules and regulations, be able to prepare permit applications and environmental reports for regulatory agencies, complete site inspections and audits, provide appropriate training on environmental topics, and maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies and the community. The individual will also be expected to develop and/or implement environmental management systems that are effective in driving environmental excellence for this integrated pulp and paper facility. Successful applicant will be responsible for preparing regulatory reports required by the facility Title V Operating Air Permit and demonstrate continuous compliance with State, Federal and Corporate regulatory requirements and compliance standards. The individual will be expected to provide site auditing and inspections, help employees understand their environmental obligations and maintain a strong working relationship with regulatory agencies and the community. This position reports to the mill’s Environmental Manager. Expectations of the position include at a minimum the following: Monitor emerging air issues and keep environmental manager and mill manager apprised of key compliance obligations. Prepare and/or coordinate air reports for the mill in cooperation with division, corporate, and outside resources. Interact with state and EPA to facilitate air permits and authorizations in a timely fashion. Coordinate and report stack testing as required by the ADEQ Title V Operating Air Permit and GP Air Compliance Standard. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemical, or Civil engineering or other science or engineering discipline. 2 or more years of recent air compliance experience in a manufacturing industry. Preferred Qualifications: Air permitting experience is a plus. Working knowledge of other environmental regulations on storm water, wastewater, SPCC, SARA, and hazardous/non-hazardous waste is a plus Knowledge-Skills-Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, able to work with all levels of the organization, ability to build partnerships, computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
