ESX E6 range of controllers from STW: Proven TriCore power and 126 I/O channels as standard
Complex machinery needs capable electronic control. The ESX electronic control units offer outstanding
processing power in a robust module specifically designed for mobile automation in rugged conditions. The
control units from Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) have a long heritage of hydraulic and vehicle control in
construction, materials handling and agriculture.
As electronic control has become more established throughout the range of mobile machinery, so has the
scope and depth of the automation requirements. Putting more functionality in the control unit means getting
the most out of the investment in electronic control and CAN based networking.
To meet this increasing scope, STW is now offering the ESX-3XM-E6 as a standard product. Utilising the
base ESX-3XM and incorporating the EB06 expansion board as standard, the ESX-3XM-E6 offers 60 I/O
channels. This popular ESX-3XM configuration offers a balanced selection of I/O types, and has already
proven itself in the field. It is available for both CODESYS and C programming.
Based on the same principle, the ESX-3XL-2E6 offers a 126 I/O channels as standard, with 48 power outputs
and a continuous power rating of 135 A, and that at a genuine -40 to 85°C operating temperature range.
A high native I/O count means the E6 controllers can be used across a range of machines with different
requirements, reducing the configuration and logistics effort across a family of machines. They are an ideal
choice when an OEM wants to settle on one control unit for multiple applications.
