SOUL STUDIOS, LLC COMPANY PAYMENT POLICIES REGISTRATION FEES Registration fees are as follows: 1st student in a family: 2nd student in a family: each additional student: $25 $20 $10 FAMILY DISCOUNTS There is a 10% discount offered on tuition only for siblings of a dancer paying full tuition rates. TUITION Tuition for the year is billed in monthly installments from September through June and is due on the first day of each month. If tuition is not paid within 15 days of the due date a $10 late fee will be applied to the account. If tuition is not paid within 30 days the dancer will be placed on probation until all tuition due is paid in full. A dancer on probation may not attend technique classes unless specific arrangements are made with the Director. If a Company dancer does not make up absences, the dancer may be removed from competition pieces at the discretion of the Director. All monies paid on a dancer’s account will be first applied to outstanding tuition. Tuition covers all technique, conditioning and enrichment classes and rehearsal time. Company dancers are entitled to take unlimited classes as long as they have met their Company commitments. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO CLASSES WITH VISITING TEACHERS, WHICH WILL BE BILLED SEPARATELY. Elite Company $225 Junior Company $205 CHOREOGRAPHY There will be a creation fee for each number a Company dancer is chosen to be in. This fee will vary depending on who the choreographer is and how many dancers are in the number. Choreography fees for groups will include cost of any props used. All fees must be paid in full before choreography begins. If the fees are not paid, the dancer may forfeit his or her opportunity to be a part of that number and may be replaced by another dancer chosen by the choreographer. General guideline for IN STUDIO choreography fees: Solos Duets/Trios Groups $250 $300 $35 - $90 (estimated) From time to time, the Studio may contract with master teachers to create a piece for Company. Fees for these dances may be considerably higher and will always be optional. Choreography fees do not include ongoing clean-up and maintenance throughout the season for solos/duets/trios. BEARING IN MIND THAT EVERY COMPANY MEMBER WILL BE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN TWO GROUPS, PLEASE CAREFULLY CONSIDER HOW MANY ADDITIONAL DANCES YOU WILL ALLOW YOUR DANCER TO COMMIT TO. COSTS PER NUMBER INCLUDING CHOREOGRAPHY FEES, COSTUMES AND ENTRY FEES WILL AVERAGE $250 - $350 FOR THE YEAR. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE TRAVEL EXPENSES. SOLO/DUET/TRIO MAINTENANCE In order for solos, duets and trios to excel at competitions, dancers are required to have regularly scheduled Maintenance appointments. These appointments will be scheduled at the discretion of the Director and/or Choreographer. There will be twice-monthly scheduled, 2 hour long, Group Maintenance sessions on Friday afternoons. This is an excellent opportunity to practice and perform in front of an audience of fellow dancers and receive teacher critique and corrections. Every dancer that has a solo/duet/trio is required to attend at least one of these sessions each month. The fee is $5 and is payable on the day of the session. Please sign-up for the Maintenance Session you plan to attend. Number of dancers allowed in each session may be limited. A minimum of one, ½ hour private clean-up appointment is required each month. Fees for Private appointments will be $40/hour or $25/half hour and are payable on the day of the appointment. Dancers who arrange to have “standing” appointments on the same day and time each week will be billed in advance along with tuition billing. Standing appointments may be rescheduled when conflicts occur with a 24 hour notice. “No-shows” will be billed to the dancer’s account. This requirement may be waived at the discretion of the Director. COSTUMES Costume costs for competition, performance, and recital group numbers will average $100 each and will include all parts and pieces except shoes and tights. Generally, competition costumes are custom made or custom created in order to maintain the unique quality of the Company and will be somewhat more costly than performance and recital costumes. Specific items of costume jewelry may be required and will be billed separately. Tights and shoes required for a costume will be specified and may be purchased online or locally. Company costumes: A $50 deposit must be paid along with the creation fees prior to beginning choreography for a group number. The balance of the costume cost must be paid within 60 days, or upon delivery of the costume, whichever comes first. No costume will be given to a dancer until it is paid for in full. Performance/Recital costumes: A $50 deposit will be billed in mid-November and must be paid within 15 days. The balance of the costume cost must be paid within 60 days, or upon delivery of the costume, whichever comes first. No costume will be given to a dancer until it is paid for in full. Solo/Duet/Trio costumes must be approved by the Choreographer and Director, but may be purchased or created directly by the parent(s). If you choose to have the Studio handle the ordering, an administration fee may apply. COMPETITION & CONVENTION FEES Fees for mandatory events will be itemized on each dancer’s invoice as soon as each dance number is completed. Families are encouraged, but not required to make regular payments toward these fees during the course of the year in order to avoid unmanageable balances during the competition season. All fees for an event must be paid in full 60 days prior to the date of the event. Payments will first be applied to convention fees, then to group numbers, then to duets & trios and finally to solo entry fees. If fees are not paid in a timely manner, a dancer may be removed from a number at the discretion of the Director. All entry fees paid to Soul Studios, LLC will be held in a separate bank account and will not be intermingled with tuition payments. For this reason, parents are requested to write a separate check for payment of entry fees. The Studio will add a $1 administration fee to each entry (groups, solos, duets & trios) that is registered. Additionally, there will be a $25 travel fee per dancer added for each convention or competition attended. This fee is intended to cover the teachers’ costs incurred for hotel, travel, prop transport, and other related expenses. This fee is subject to change. Entry of solos, duets and trios is optional for any competition, including those that are mandatory for Company. Parents of dancers in duets and trios are encouraged to discuss their budgets and plans for competing prior to agreeing to participate so that there will be no conflicts over which or how many competitions to enter. Please notify the Director which competitions you wish to have your dancer registered for early in the season. Once entry fees have been paid to the Competition or Convention, they are not refundable. METHOD OF PAYMENT Soul Studios will gladly accept payment in the form of Cash, Check, Debit Card or Credit Card (Visa and MC). HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE THAT COMPETITION AND CONVENTION FEES PAID BY CREDIT CARD WILL HAVE A 3% SERVICE CHARGE ADDED TO COVER FEES INCURRED BY SOUL STUDIOS FOR CREDIT CARD TRANSACTIONS. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO DEBIT CARD PAYMENTS. RETURNED CHECK FEES $25
