Job Title: Business Director Reports To: Accounts Receivable Manager for (9) below and to the Education Director for all other functions Status: Level II (Exempt) Description: A Business Director is responsible for the financial operations of his/her centers to insure they meet or exceed the goals of the Company by supporting its values. Qualifications/Requirements: A qualified candidate has a minimum two years of multi-unit supervision or is currently employed with Today’s Child as an accounts receivable representative. A successful Business Director must be able to adequately perform each essential duty, and have the following education and experience: A degree in Business Management or Accounting is desired plus a minimum of two years management or supervisory experience. Experience with leading, managing, teaching, training, and coaching staff. Able to attend corporate meeting, conferences and travel overnight. Able to communicate effectively, verbal and written. Able to function independently without constant supervision. Able to work nights and weekends when required. Able to solve complex, non-routine problems. Able to lift 10 to 60 lbs. Schedules center tours with prospective clients and follows up by email or phone call. Monitors the accuracy of family schedules and accounts. Monitors the attendance of children in compliance with federal, state and / or local regulations. Answers the telephone in a professional manner. Work collaboratively with the Education Director to manage staffing schedules that meet the demands of the center. Ensure that Centers adhere to Today’s Child Learning Center's policies, procedures and brand assurance standards. Program Administration a. Insures that the center director is training and developing the staff to implement TCLC’s curriculum and practices. b. Guides the centers through the applicable quality assurance standard(s) certification(s) c. Ensures center classrooms are within ratio and fills in when needed d. Monitors school age children’s transportation schedules. Ensures all children are picked up within appropriate time frames by either scheduling staff to wait at children’s school, driving the center van to pick up and drop off children, determining when the school district bus drops off and picks up children. e. Divides meals to distribute appropriate amount of food to each classroom. Delivers meals to each classroom during meals times. Collects extra food containers from classrooms, empties excess in trash, clean containers and place in appropriate pick up location for food delivery staff. f. Monitor the entrance of facility to ensure only authorized parents and staff enter the building and ensures children exit the building with an appropriate staff member or parent. Financial Management a. Controls expenses associated with position. (Office Supplies) b. Reviews operating reports with Area Manager and Education Directors. c. Communicates with families regarding additional care fees and or co-pay’s d. Manages the collections of amounts due. e. Meets the centers collection objectives. f. Post payments received to DCW. g. Scan the checks to TD Bank. h. Process credit card payments. i. Constructs payment plans for all center parents not meeting their financial obligations. j. Ensures children’s schedules are correctly entered into the system for accurate billing. Also to ensure attendance tracking for CCIS children is accurate and co-pay changes are communicated. Works collaboratively with the other departments a. Food Services – Support catering in complying with CACFP record keeping and requirements. b. H.R. Department – to identify minimum level on career lattice needed for open positions and ensure the timely and accurate submission of all payroll and regulatory requirements. c. IT Department- for the operation of all staff and parent attendance equipment. When requested, assist with training new Business Directors. Participates in marketing events, open houses, back to school nights, community fairs and other community and school related events. Spends approximately 90% of time in center office. All other duties as assigned.
