May/June NMS News
1. Interims will be sent home on Friday, May 1st.
2. Scrappers Day for our Third Nine Weeks Merit Roll students and students who had Perfect Attendance
for the year is on Friday, May 1st. We will leave NMS at 9:45 a.m. and return at approximately 2:00 p.m.
3. The Relay for Life will be held on Friday and Saturday, May 1 st-2nd at the Wellness Center.
4. Members of the High School Speech Team will be at NMS on Monday, May 4 th to speak to the eighth
grade class during their lunch time.
5. The AIR Tests in sixth grade Social Studies and eighth grade Science will be on Tuesday, May 5 th. The
seventh grade does not have an AIR Test and will follow a regular school day schedule.
6. Lifetouch spring pictures will be on Wednesday, May 6th at 8:00 a.m.
7. We will have a sixth grade dance on Friday, May 8 th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the NMS cafetorium. The
seventh and eighth grade dance will be on Friday, May 15 th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the NMS cafetorium.
8. The sixth grade band concert will be held in the NMS gymnasium on Wednesday, May 13 th at 6:00 p.m.
The seventh and eighth grade band concert will also be in the gymnasium with a start time of 7:30 p.m.
9. The NMS Art Show will be held on Wednesday, May 13 th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Art displays will be
hung up in the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade wings of the building for the public to view.
10. The Junior High AAC League Track Meet will be held at Jefferson High School on Thursday, May
14th at 4:30 p.m. The Trumbull County Junior High Track Meet will be held on Saturday, May 16 th at
Lakeview High School. That meet will begin at 9:00 a.m.
11. NMS will be having an American Heart Association Week from Monday, May 18 th-Friday, May 22nd.
12. The NMS Academic/Sports Boosters Banquet to recognize our students in grades 6-8 will be held at
Ciminero’s Banquet Center on Tuesday, May 19th at 6:00 p.m.
13. The NMS grades 6-8 Choir Concert will be held in the NMS cafetorium on Thursday, May 21 st at 6:30
p.m.
14. NMS Career Day will be held on Wednesday, May 27th for the eighth grade class.
15. The NMS eighth grade Honors Breakfast will be held at Ciminero’s Banquet Center on Thursday, May
28th from 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
16. The WEB Picnic will be on Friday, May 29th.
17. The End of the Fourth Nine Weeks/Early Release Day will be on Friday, June 5 th. We will also do
GREAT JOBS PRIZES on that day, as well. This will be the last day of school for our students.
18. Report Cards will be ready for pick-up at NMS beginning on Friday, June 12th.
