FroshComm Application Form
Calling all potential leaders of the class of 2019…
Could you be (one of) the chosen leader(s) of the freshman class?
Are you interested in student government?
Apply for FROSHCOMM!
The Freshman Committee (or FroshComm) is a group of Thomas Jefferson 9th
graders that run the freshman class government until class elections are held in
November after homecoming. FroshComm is responsible for organizing the
Freshman Homecoming activities, including class musical extravaganza, class float,
spirit day participation, and much, much more. It is a great way to meet new

“FroshComm was the best decision of my TJ career. Some of my closest friends
at TJ, some of whom I have never had classes with in any of my four years, I
made through FroshComm. It introduced me to the loving Student Government
family here at TJ and one of the events I am most passionate about:
Homecoming Week. Plus, it was cool getting the opportunity to fist bump
President Obama’s hand."
− Anant Das
Class of 2015, FroshComm 2011
Student Government Association President, 2014-2015
“FroshComm was the perfect way to introduce me to TJ and SGA. Planning SGA
events is fun and you get to meet a lot of your classmates and help them have a
great Homecoming Week! As a part of FroshComm, you also get to meet a bunch
of upperclassmen who are in SGA and they are really helpful to learn about TJ
and SGA. I have been a member of SGA ever since FroshComm and I have loved
every second of it!"
− Kaila Stein
Class of 2016, FroshComm 2012
Student Government Association Class of 2016 Senator, 2014-2015
“I came to TJ knowing eight kids from my base school, but FroshComm gave me
five more friends right in the middle of the summer. Once school started, I
began to befriend even more people because of all the work we had to do as
FroshComm members. It allowed me to help develop my class' (2016's) spirit
into what it is today. Moreover, it was easy to balance with schoolwork since
my responsibilities were in the beginning of the year, so there weren't any
conflicts with academics."
− Jacob Brower
Class of 2016, FroshComm 2012
“Being on FroshComm was a great and valuable experience for me. It allowed
me to break the ice with numerous students in my class as well as meet many
helpful upperclassmen."
− Steven Li
Class of 2017, FroshComm 2013
Student Government Association Executive Committee Member 2014-2015
“Being in FroshComm was definitely the best decision I made this year. There
weren’t that many people who came to TJ from my middle school, so
FroshComm introduced me to new friends before school even started. Planning
Homecoming was really hype!!!! FroshComm got me involved in Class Council,
which is also an incredibly rewarding experience. In short, apply to
FroshComm!!!"
− Emily Wang
Class of 2018, FroshComm 2014
Freshmen Class (Class of 2018) Secretary, 2014-2015
“FroshComm was a great way for me to meet people both in my class and in
the classes above me before coming to TJ. Through FroshComm, I met so many
older students in the SGA who have been mentors to me in my past few years
at TJ. It's a great way to meet people and really dive into and become part
of the TJ culture!"
− Kristin Myers
Class of 2017, FroshComm 2013
Student Government Association Executive Committee Member 2014-2015
“I liked FroshComm because it provided me with an opportunity to help my
class out by planning homecoming. As a freshman, the whole school isn't really
expecting much of you in the Homecoming Spirit Competitions, and to be able
to impress some of the upperclassmen with our Musical Extravaganza, Float,
and general class spirit was a really rewarding experience."
− Millen Anand
Class of 2016, FroshComm 2012
“FroshComm was one of the best experiences of my freshmen year because
coming into TJ, I only knew one other person, but because I was on FroshComm,
I got to meet other freshmen and upperclassmen before the school year even
started. I also got to be involved in planning and running homecoming week
(my favorite time of the year at TJ) and met a lot of other freshmen through
that!"
− Holly Frank
Class of 2016, FroshComm 2012
Student Government Association Executive Committee Member 2014-2015
“I found FroshComm to be an incredibly fun and rewarding experience. It was a
great way to become a part of the TJ community. FroshComm is one of the
highlights of my freshmen year!"
− Nick Begotka
