Lauren Atkinson graduated UMBC in 2008 with a
B.A. in Health Administration and Policy Track
Health Policy with a minor in Sociology. After graduation, Lauren did a year of service in
Americorps National Civilian Community Corps based in Denver Colorado. After Americorps,
Lauren worked at the National Committee for
Quality Assurance in Washington DC as an
Analyst for 2 years. Lauren began her BSN at
University of Maryland Baltimore in 2012. She is currently a nurse at St. Agnes on the
Neuro/Stroke Unit.
Managed Care Associate at MedStar Health
Adrienne Fulton graduated from CCBC in 2006 with an Associate’s Degree in Business
Administration. She worked in Medical Coding and
Billing for a Radiology Services company from
2003 – 2011. She started classes at UMBC in spring 2010, and in 2011 began working at Johns
Hopkins as a Patient Service Coordinator (Front
Desk). Adrienne soon desired more responsibilities and more of a ‘behind the scenes’ role and was offered a position at MedStar Health
(in DC) as a Managed Care Associate for Managed
Care Department. She graduated from UMBC in
December 2013 with Bachelors in Health
Administration.
Director of Performance Improvement at
HealthCare Access Maryland, Inc
Karen Stone graduated from the UMBC Health
Administration and Policy Program in 2010 and completed her Master’s in Public Policy in 2011 through the accelerated BA/MPP program. Karen has nearly 5 years of experience in the public health field, focusing on population health improvement, maternal and child health policy and social determinants of health. Currently, she is the
Director of Performance Improvement at
HealthCare Access Maryland, Inc., where she supports program directors in managing data and performance measures, develops core competencies for outreach and program staff, develops competency based training curricula for the agency, improves program process and workflows, and works on improvement initiatives for the agency.
Support Specialist at Erickson Living
Sarah Kuznear graduated in May 2014 with a B.A. in
Health Administration and Policy. She was the president of the HAPP Council of Majors last year.
Before graduation, Sarah was offered a job at the corporate office of Erickson Living as a Support
Specialist. She works under the Erickson Health
Medical Group within the Medical Staff Services division. Erickson Living owns and operates 18 continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs) across the United States. Her division takes care of the marketing, recruiting, and credentialing of the providers that work within these communities.
