Lauren Lyon
My104.3/MPATC Student of the Month

Lauren was selected by the My104.3 broadcasting team as final Student of the Month for the
current school year. She was nominated by Mrs. Mary Kay Voeks for Interior Design. In her
nomination submittal, Mrs. Voeks commented, “In my sixteen years as the Interior Design
instructor at the Mt. Pleasant Area Technical Center, I have had the pleasure of spending the
past four teaching and developing a relationship with Lauren Lyon. Her time management is
superior to students of her age and she performs at a very high level, individually and
independently.”
According to Mrs. Voeks, “Lauren has proven her abilities, outstanding work ethic, and sense of
responsibility by juggling her academics as well as her involvement in Soccer, Golf, NHS, NTHS,
Key Club and Business Professionals of America. She demonstrates great leadership as captain
of the girl’s Varsity Golf and Soccer teams while continuing to maintain a high GPA that has
entitled her to numerous Saginaw Valley League All-Academic honors. She gives every
endeavor her very best effort.”
Mrs. Voeks also noted, “In addition to all those fine qualities, Lauren has a warm and
welcoming personality. She continually helps younger designers and keeps them feeling
positive about their skills in class. Helping others is something that comes naturally to Lauren –
a wonderful trait for the physical therapy career she has chosen to pursue in her studies at
CMU in the fall. Lauren is a kind and accomplished young lady.”
