Over the summer a further 294 records were added to OASIS. This represents a significant increase in
the amount of fieldwork reported over what is a comparatively short reporting period (averaging 2.54
reports per day compared to the mean of 1.83 observed over the history of usage in Scotland).
There are now 3637 records in OASIS. The proportion of records at different stages in the work flow
remains constant with minor fluctuations for the number of records at each stage of the process.
Continuing the slightly downward trend from previous reports, 20.7% of projects are live with
contractors, 14% with the relevant HER and 2.7% require validation by RCAHMS (figure 1) whilst
62.4% of projects have been completed.

Table 2: Age of records waiting completion by the contractor, based on the year the record was
initiated. (see appendix for breakdown of organisation by year)
There are 583 live records with a further 160 waiting for the contractor to send a report (figure 2).
Although there has been a significant reduction from 30.2% to 20.2% over the last year the number of
projects awaiting completion through uploading a report remains high. Based on the completion date
of the fieldwork, approximately 40% of these records are now over 5 years old (figure 3) and it is
seems unlikely that the contractors are going to complete their submissions.

Table 2 HER validation
The proportion of records requiring HER validation has reduced slightly from 16.1% to
14.1% (figures 1 and 4, table 2). This is in part through a concentrated effort at RCAHMS to
reduce the number of records awaiting validation by the City of Edinburgh council.
There is now no HER service for Inverclyde Council.
