Week At A Glance
Monday: The teacher will introduce the essential question on page 118: “How are all living things connected?” Students will
practice listening comprehension using “Return of the Wolves”. The teacher will introduce the vocabulary (pg. 120-121) using
ConnectEd. The students will take turns reading “Rescuing Our Reefs” on pages 122-125. The teacher will review main idea on
page 127 and students will listen to a Flocabulary song.
Tuesday: Students will complete the county wide reading benchmark test.
Wednesday: Students will reread “Rescuing Our Reefs” on pgs.122-125. The teacher will stop periodically to check for
comprehension. Students will discuss the main idea of the story. Students will complete a worksheet to practice identifying the
main idea and details of the passage. Then, students will create a summary using their information. Students will complete a
bookmark activity to practice comprehension.
Thursday: Students will listen to “The Buffalo are Back” (pgs. 130-145). As the teacher is reading the students will do some
choral reading to practice fluency. Students will discuss the main idea and supporting evidence from the text. Then, student will
complete a context clue carousel chart activity.
Friday: Students will complete the reading assessment and take a spelling test.
Homework:
Monday: Read for 20 minutes and study spelling.
Tuesday: Reading Workbook Page 73-74 DUE THURSDAY/Study spelling
Thursday: Study Spelling Words & COMPASS LEARNING*
*If you have internet access you need to work on Compass Learning reading for at least 20 minutes.

irregular plural nouns changing the f to a v

Tuesday: Students will create a list of
irregular plural nouns ie. deer, moose,
shrimp).
Wednesday: Students will create a chart of
nouns that are spelled differently when they
are made plural. (man/men, child/children)
Thursday: Students will play a game from
ConnectEd to practice irregular plural nouns.
Students will complete a noun assessment.
Week At A Glance: Social Studies
Students will be learning about Alabama becoming a
state.
Monday: Students will read Chapter 5 Lesson 3
pages 126-131. Students will complete an outline as
we read.
Tuesday: Students will complete a Chapter 5 Study
Guide for the upcoming quiz.
Wednesday: Students will view a video about
plantations and slavery.
Thursday: Students will complete the Chapter 5 quiz.
Friday: Students will watch a video about what life
was like in the 1800’s while Alabama was becoming a
state.
