Myanmar Council of Churches (MCC) Malaria Prevention and Control Project has been implementing
malaria prevention, diagnosis and treatment activities with voluntary health workers in the remote hard to reach
villages of 18 townships in Chin and Kachin State and Sagaing Division for the past four years with the support of
Global Fund and technical guidance from National Malaria Control Program and WHO (Myanmar). As the malaria
prevention and control activities are gaining momentum, MCC malaria project is already planned to extend to
new villages.
To supervise the works of voluntary health workers and township activity managers, MCC malaria project
is currently seeking dedicated person to work with us as for the following position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall guidance of the Project Manager, Field Medical Coordinator (FMC) shall:
(1) Represent the Project Manager, (Malaria Project) at the Division/ State, Township and village levels where the
malaria project is located.
(2) Assist the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager in conducting advocacy for the malaria project.
(3) Serve as the first level supervisor of the Township Activity Manager and second level supervisor of the
Voluntary Health Workers.
(4)Provide technical and administrative support to the Township Activity Managers and to the Voluntary Health
Workers in carrying out the malaria project activities.
(5) Conduct periodic analysis of malaria situation in the project areas.
(6) In consultation with the Project Manager and in collaboration with the Township Manager.
 Develop work plan in each project township
 Organize, facilitate and conduct the training/ refreshing training of volunteers.
(7)Establish linkages with State/ Division and Township Health Departments and other implementing partners
and collaborate as necessary for effective and efficient implementation of the project.

(8) Together with the Township Activity Managers,

Mobilize the communities in target villages to participate in community based malaria prevention and
control.

Conduct Training, Refresher Training and behaviour change communication training for VHWs in relation
to malaria prevention and control.
(9) Manage the distribution of Health and Non Health products supplied and monitor their inventory, storage and
rational use.
(10) Ensure cash book is updated timely and report to Head Office together with all supporting documents.
(11) Ensure all expenditures are spent according to the approved budget, update the situation and report to the
Head Office in monthly basis.
(12) Assist the Project Manager in preparing the financial and technical reports that may be required from the
project sites.
(13) Disburse funds for the project according to SOP, prepare the disbursement report and submit them to the
Administration and Finance officer.
(14) Performed as joint signatory with Admin & Finance Assistant for Cash withdrawal from the bank.
Selection Criteria
(1) Must be dedicated personnel without discrimination for gender, race and religion.
(2) Must have skill, experience and knowledge in malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control.
(3) Must have ability to deliver training in malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control.
(4) Should have good interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
(5) Must have computer experience with basic data base management, Microsoft word, excel and power point
application.
(6) Fluency in written and spoken with English and Myanmar Language.
(7) Willingness and dedicated to work in hard to reach areas of Kachin State and Sagaing Region with frequent
travel as necessary.
(8) Permanent residency in Kachin State may be considered as priority.
Education/ Experience/ Language
(1) (a) Must have M.B., B.S or equivalent to M.B.B.S degree from Medial Institution / College recognized by
the Government of Myanmar.

(b) Must have B.Comm.H degree from Institute of Community Health, (OR) Holder of Health Assistant
Certificate from Government Health Assistant Training School (OR) Retired Health Assistant from
Department of Health.

(c) Retired Public Health Nurse of Department of Health , Myanmar.

(d) Must have degree in Bachelor of Nursing Science ( B.N.Sc)
(2). Minimum 1 year experience in supervision, management of staff and volunteers.
(3) Person who can speak local Kachin Language is the preference for selection.
(4) Previous experience working in the field of malaria prevention, diagnosis, treatment and control with
Health Department and NGOs.
(5)Previous successful involvement with and good knowledge of NGOs and civil society.
(6) Ability and willingness to perform assigned tasks and duties under time pressures.
(7) Fluency in written and spoken English and Myanmar Language.
(8) Excellent knowledge of standard computer applications including work processing and spreadsheets,
especially MS Excel, MS Word and Power Point.
