electronically on the document and the electronic document be forwarded to the
Programme Team for consideration;
55.2 the following issues/themes were identified:
55.3 That it should be checked with Andrea Wilson about the status of the term
interim award in section 1.0 as this is only a 30 credit module and there appears
to be no apparent interim award.
55.4 It was noted that in section 2.0 that further comment should be given to student
recruitment, student performance and feedback from External Examiners.
55.5 It was noted on page 5 that where the assessment is limited to one essay this
does not clearly indicate how student choice is incorporated and that this needs
to be made clear.
55.6 It was noted on page 6 that greater clarity is required in the first paragraph about
how this programme is now positioned across the region as independent from
other HEI’s.
55.7 It was noted on page 6 that reference to policy drivers needs to be elaborated
and reference to the QAA, subject benchmarks and FHEQ need to be made.
55.8 It was noted that section 4.0 needs to make reference to the Faculty of Health
Studies research informed curriculum strategy and the assessment and feedback
policy and for this to be built into the development and action planning process
within the strategic aims.
55.9 That on page 10 reference needs to be made of the multi-professional nature of
the programme.
55.10 That in section 5.0 greater clarity is required to elaborate how service users,
PSRB’s and local stakeholders are involved in the programme design
55.11 That is section6.0 paragraph 2 greater clarity is required about how this
programme relates to programmes offered by other institutions.
55.12 That on Page 11 could clarity be added about how the programme will remain up
to date with knowledge and practice in the relevant disciplines.
Chair checked 16.03.15
55.13 That section 7.0 needs to seek clarity from both the NMC and HCPC about
whether applicants who have gained a qualification but who have not registered
that qualification can be admitted onto the programme.
55.14 That section 8.0 report on the waivers to University Regulations that are in place
and how these have influenced student achievement.
55.15 That page 13 that the first paragraph identifies what processes have been put in
place to build on success and address students who are struggling with their
academic work.
55.16 That on page 13 the weighting of module marks was questioned where 90% of
the module is achieved with one written assessment and whether this should be
considered.
55.17 That is should be indicated whether formative feedback has been included to
prepare students to meet the assessment.
55.18 That the table on page 13 should be reformatted for the columns to be of a
similar width and the font size made smaller so that this fits on one page.
55.19 That section 9.0 should clarify more in detail evidence of how the learning and
teaching strategy will support students to meet the aims and learning outcomes.
55.20 That section 10.0 should highlight how the feedback from the programme is fed
into the wider SSPRD student feedback.
55.21 That section 11.0 to make clearer how the role of Academic Supervisor and the
role of the PAT are used to support the student.
55.22 That an outline for student induction processes for each intake needs to be
reviewed and highlighted.
55.23 The bullet point section at the end of page 21 should be reviewed and updated
where necessary.
55.24 That in section 12.0 the bullet points need elaborating through the use of a cross
reference narrative linking to student written support and the strengths the
programme team believe this programme has.
55.25 That Enhancements to programmes need to be presented as two separate lists
one for enhancements that the team wish to make to the programme and a list of
recommendations that the team are asking the panel to approve.

55.37 It was noted that a new first paragraph should be included ‘to market’ the
programme and raise the profile of the Nursing Times award and the positive
student feedback that makes this the programme to choose.
55.38 That page 2 should read Health (and) Care Professions Council
55.39 That on page 2 there should be a clear distinction between the requirements of
differing professions for the programme including the inclusion of the table for
midwives indicating the total number of clinical hours to be achieved depending
on the number of years since registration lapsed
55.40 That on page 3 there appear to be a large number of Learning Outcomes and that
whilst these reflect the NMC requirements these could be reduced in number and
