MSc Administrator – Maternity Cover Job Description Title Administrator - MSc Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology (DNP) and MSc Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice (DPCP) Reporting To AFC General Manager; DNP/ DPCP Programme Directors Employer The Anna Freud Centre Salary £23,000 per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme with Scottish Life Location The Anna Freud Centre, 12 Maresfield Gardens, London NW3 5SU Working Hours 35 hours per week: 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday Term of Contract 12 month maternity cover The Anna Freud Centre (AFC) As a Centre of Practice the AFC is dedicated to developing innovative and effective treatments and services for children and families. The Centre provides specialist help for children and young people in emotional distress, helping to put them back on track for a brighter future. As a Centre of Learning AFC pioneers training and research dedicated to improving understanding of children and young people’s emotional problems. The Centre is affiliated to UCL with which it offers three master’s degree programmes (one of which is also offered with Yale University) and a clinical doctorate and undertakes collaborative research studies. Overview of the post With an increasing number of Postgraduate courses being developed by the AFC and UCL, it is an exciting time to join this dynamic team of administrators, academics, and teaching staff. The post holder will have the opportunity to learn about the essential functions that underpin postgraduate studies whilst taking on admin responsibility for two full courses. The post-holder will divide his/her week between administration for Developmental Neuroscience and Psychopathology (DNP) and Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice (DPCP). The MSc DNP is a two-year full time course and students spend their first year in London and the second in Yale; each cohort is typically eight to nine students. The MSc DPCP is also a two-year full time course and students spend both years in London; each cohort consists of 12 students. Page 2 of 2 Main duties and responsibilities • Acting as first point of contact for all students - current and prospective. • Coordinating and liaising between members of staff on the team, some of whom are part-time. • Processing application forms, arranging interviews for prospective students. • Training in the UCL system ‘Portico’ in order to administrate students’ assessments, module selections and programme diets. • Coordinating student assessment submission and marking, as well as examination invigilation. • Printing lecture handouts and ensuring all course material is available on UCL system ‘Moodle’. • Distributing and collating termly student and staff feedback forms. • Collection, distribution, filing and tracking of all course assignment, mark sheets and final marks. • Attending and arranging staff meetings, and taking minutes where necessary. • Ensuring UCL requirements are adhered to across both courses. • Administrating annual Exam Board meetings and Induction Days. • Updating UCL course web pages. • Assisting staff with student reference requests. • Heading up administration of AFC Alumni website. Continued Professional Development The post-holder will be required to take part in the Centre’s annual review and development programme. Meetings The post-holder will be required to attend and participate in AFC staff and MSc meetings.
