As a Centre of Practice the AFC delivers innovative and effective treatments and services for children and their families. As a Centre of Learning the AFC pioneers training and research dedicated to improving understanding of children and young people’s emotional problems through training allied and mental health professionals, conducting empirical research and advising practitioners, universities and policy makers. The Centre is affiliated to UCL with which it offers a wide range of post-graduate programmes (one of which is also offered with Yale University) and undertakes collaborative research projects. Background to the post With an increasing number of Postgraduate courses being developed by the Anna Freud Centre and UCL, it is an exciting time to join the dynamic team of administrators, academics, and teaching staff that support them. The post holder will work primarily on a portfolio of CYP IAPT courses including two 60 credit postgraduate certificates and one 120 credit postgraduate diploma. The courses are undertaken by mental health professionals and managers working within both the NHS and voluntary sectors. The courses are part of the wider CYP IAPT project which is a national project to transform the provision of Page 2 of 3 children’s mental health services. The course administrator will be part of a growing team supporting the London and South East CYP IAPT Collaborative. Job summary The main purpose of the post is to be responsible for the day to day administration and organization of the CYP IAPT Therapist and Managers courses, providing an initial point of contact for over one hundred students and acting as a liaison between the staff team, many of whom work part-time. An important part of this role will be ensuring clear and regular communication between a large team which is based across several different sites and includes administrators, practice tutors, module teams and the project team. Main duties and responsibilities Course organisation Work alongside the part time CYP IAPT Administrative Assistant, overseeing all CYP Administration to ensure consistency and completion. Undertake training in relevant UCL and AFC systems such as Portico and in design. Coordinate the annual application process liaising with UCL and the Project Manager and Project Officer where appropriate. Take responsibility for the time tabling of CYP IAPT courses at the Anna Freud Centre. Print weekly teaching materials, register and feedback forms. Set up IT and AV equipment on teaching days. Coordinate with External Speakers regarding timings, feedback and invoicing. Take responsibility for managing the CYP IAPT site, including uploading and electronically filing teaching materials, timetables and any additional relevant material. Distribute, collect and collate sessional and termly student and staff feedback forms. Manage all UCL Portico requirements including inputting final marks and attendance monitoring. Support the teaching team with other administrative tasks related to the course. Assessment Coordinate student assessment submission and marking across CYP IAPT courses. Collect, distribute, track and file all course assignments, mark sheets and final marks. Undertake training on the Secure Video Cloud system and assign videos to assessors Coordinate the annual Board of Examiners meeting. Communication and meetings Act as first point of contact for all student enquiries and delegate queries or concerns where appropriate. Attend regular meetings with the UCL Course Tutor to ensure all CYP IAPT Programmes adhere to UCL regulations Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and Project Officer. Coordinate and attend regular meetings with the KCL Course Administrator to ensure information is shared across UCL and KCL. Produce agendas, attend and minute all course meetings including the London Collaborative, Student Staff Consultative Committee and Programme Committee meetings. Page 3 of 3 Other Duties Assist with ad hoc administration across all Postgraduate courses as and when required. Assist with additional CYP IAPT events when required. Continued Professional Development The post-holder will be required to take part in the Centre’s annual review and development programme. Meetings The post-holder will be required to attend and participate in AFC staff, Central Support and Postgraduate studies meetings.
