Dear Parents/ Carers,
Year 4 Visit to St Albans Cathedral – Friday 15th January
We are very excited to be taking year 4 to St Alban’s Cathedral. Year 4 have been learning all about the Romans and
their legacy, and so to help the children to further their understanding of this period we are going to visit St Alban’s
Cathedral.
St Alban’s was once called Verulamium by the Romans and was destroyed by Boudicca in the Iceni Rebellion of 61
AD.
The Cathedral runs a Roman workshop where the children will be able to learn all about life in a Roman city, and
even try their hand at mosaic making.
We will be leaving Priestmead at 9:00am and travelling by coach to St. Alban’s Cathedral. We shall return by 3:15pm

All children need to wear their school uniform
Children will need to bring a packed lunch and drink. Those entitled to a free lunch will have the
option to have one provided by the school as indicated below.

The permission slip must be in by Wednesday 6th January so we can ensure the trip can be staffed and run safely.
Without sufficient parent helpers, we will not be able to go ahead, therefore if you are able to help and feel
confident in leading a small group of children, including your own child, please complete the slip below.
