Based on the above weather forecast for next 5 days, Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa, ARS,
Bikaner suggested the following advisory to the farmers of Bikaner district.
 Day and night temperatures will decrease with high relative humidity, moderate wind speed and
good rains in coming days.
 Chances of rains in coming days. Try to conserve every drop of rain for future use. Withheld the
irrigation in groundnut for few days. In case of no rains irrigate the groundnut crop at pod
formation stage.
 If possible, try to harvest the matured moong been, moth bean crops and keep the produce under
shelter to protect the produce.
 Forecasted weather conditions may increase the chances of root/collar rot in standing crop of groundnut,
therefore, apply carbendizem @ 2.0 kg/ha mixed with soil at the time of rains or along with irrigation water and
repeat it after 15 days, if needed.




Make provision for proper drainage of stagnant rain water in the fields.
As rains are forecasted, postponed the spray of pesticides in kharif crops.
Prepare for the sowing of Berseem, radish, carrot crop by the end of this month.
To get more fodder production from the first cutting of berseem, mix the seed of Chinese cabbage
or fodder oat.
 Give deworming medicine against endo parasites to the livestock as per guidance of registered
veterinarian.
