Request for Qualifications: Groundwork Milwaukee - Operations Manager Groundwork Milwaukee (GW Mke) is currently seeking an Urban Waters Program Manager. GW Mke partners with businesses, residents and government officials to revitalize neighborhoods and transform liabilities into community assets through programs focused on food, water and jobs. Urban Waters Program Manager Summary: The Urban Waters Program Manager is responsible for planning and implementing related projects, including outreach to neighborhoods impacted by flooding and to the general public to promote water quality improvement; leading green infrastructure planning efforts and policy development. The incumbent will lead volunteers and Green Team members in green infrastructure implementation and riparian corridor habitat restoration, and work collaboratively with other organizations and residents to identify, plan and implement water quality projects. Reporting Relationship: Reports to: Executive Director Supervises: Green Team members on a project basis Primary responsibilities include: Lead green infrastructure planning for the Riverworks neighborhood in Harambee. o Based on the survey of similar post-industrial projects in Milwaukee and the surveyed conditions in the Riverworks district, conduct/oversee opportunity analysis and develop cost benefit analysis. o Conduct public outreach, especially of business partners to gain input for draft plan Represent Groundwork Milwaukee on the “Kinnickinnic River Implementation Coalition” (KRIC) ensure GWM’s active participation in planning and implementing outreach and projects. Attend meetings of the “Kinnickinnic River Neighbors in Action,” work with residents to ensure their concerns are addressed. Manage projects such as rain garden installation and habitat restoration to ensure project quality and active Green Team, resident and volunteer participation. o Sequencing tasks, project set-up. o Ensure timely completion of projects, including maintenance and / or installation of project, monitor costs to ensure compliance with budgets. Take lead in Green Tier outreach and education in the 30th St Industrial Corridor. Oversee our River Ambassador program, which seeks and trains volunteers to teach residents about the great projects that improve out waterways and grows stewardship movement to ensure clean water for all of Milwaukee Create relationships with organizations and residents and schools, especially in the Corridor and Kinnickinnic watershed neighbors that are impacted by flooding Develop and implement interactive learning opportunities for students and adults that encourage stewardship of Milwaukee’s rivers and Lake Michigan along with greater understanding of the benefits of green infrastructure. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: College degree or equivalent experience. An emphasis on natural resource management, water sciences or urban planning is preferred. At least 2 years practical experience in project management. A demonstrated ability to supervise and lead others is preferred. Demonstrated ability to organize tasks, set and observe priorities, and maintain schedules High degree of initiative and organization Effective communication skills Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Excel).
