Applicants must read the criteria and terms and conditions before applying for funding. CRITERIA The Annual Fund Panel at Goldsmiths, University of London, welcomes applications for funding from all Departments, students and the Students’ Union for initiatives that will be of benefit to their department, club or society, or will benefit Goldsmiths as a whole and the wider community. Priority will be given to proposals designed to enhance the overall quality of student experience. Projects unlikely to receive funding from other channels will also receive special consideration. The criteria used in awarding grants are summarised below: 1 The Panel will consider supporting initiatives in the following areas: Projects that will benefit Goldsmiths as a whole and the wider community, or which promote the reputation of Goldsmiths to the benefit of all, or that enhance the student experience Equipment provision that benefits multiple students Enhancement to Library resources and facilities Student-led extra-curricular academic activities or projects Club or society projects that will enhance the experience of students Projects that require an initial outlay, provided the Department can meet any recurrent costs concerned Projects that are unlikely to receive funding from other sources Annual Fund awards will not usually exceed £1,500 per award, although bids for larger amounts are welcome on the understanding that resources are limited 2 The Panel will not consider: Projects that commit the Panel to recurrent funding Projects that require the Panel to pay for permanent or temporary salary, or any other staff costs Applications from individuals for scholarships, bursaries or prizes, or trips abroad that benefit only one student Items of regular equipment such as general office furnishings, etc. Equipment that benefits only one student Applications are to be made online. Page 1 of 2 TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ACCEPTING FUNDS Successful applicants must: 1. Be on a course in academic year 2016/7 to receive funds (student applicants only) 2. Come to 28 Laurie Grove or another specified location in person to sign terms and conditions before funds can be disbursed 3. Acknowledge the award on projects, publicity, supporting materials, presentations and products, furniture etc. with the Annual Fund logo or, at the very least, acknowledge the funding of the project with the following words: ‘Supported by Goldsmiths’ Annual Fund 2016’. This acknowledgement may take the form of a plaque, bookplate, a logo on a website, etc. depending upon the nature of the project 4. Report back to the Regular Giving Coordinator about how the award has assisted you and others by 30 June 2017 at the latest 5. We will supply you with various formats of our Annual Fund logo branding and branding guidelines Reporting back should include a written report (minimum of 300 words) but also endorsements from beneficiaries or those who have benefitted from the experience and, where appropriate, evidence of the award such as photos, posters, leaflets, brochures, booklets, web pages, blogs and any other evidence of what they have achieved, showing how the logo and/or acknowledgement has been displayed These reports and any other materials will be used in future publicit y of the Annual Fund and for reporting back to the donors If requested, beneficiaries must attend an event in which donors will be invited Important notes: If recipient(s) fail to report back then they are expected to pay-back their award in total If funds are not spent for any reason the Regular Giving Coordinator must be informed immediately and you must arrange to return the funds promptly The funds must be spent only on the approved project by 30 June 2017 and must not be diverted to other projects or other costs related to the project that were not indicated on the original submission. Exceptions to this will be considered but only if written notification is received by the Panel, C/O Regular Giving Coordinator Sarah Enderby, Development and Alumni Office, 28 Laurie Grove within four weeks of this closing date. If no such notification is received, the funds may be reclaimed You must maintain financial records and we reserve the right to see them If there are any excess funds after completion of the project, these funds must be returned to the Panel for re-allocation to other projects The Annual Fund will not be responsible for any on-going or recurrent costs associated with the project or unforeseen additional costs Page 2 of 2
