Please give proposed dates (exhibitions can last for a maximum of 2 months). Outline your proposal, including the medium/media of work(s), approximate dimensions, hanging or installation requirements, brief concept or ideas behind the proposed exhibit and how it relates to the Library as an environment or our Special Collections (if this is where the exhibition will take place). (Max. 500 words) Please indicate that you have read and accepted the following points to note. Points to note: Goldsmiths Library does not take commission on sales or charge for the use of exhibiting space. Artists are responsible for the hanging/installation of work(s). It is not usually possible to put fixings in the walls but artists may make use of the hanging system in the Special Collections Reading Room for wall based works. It may be possible to install fixings in the back walls of the Kingsway Corridor cabinets with prior agreement. The exhibition space must be left as found prior to exhibiting (which may involve filling holes and painting). Artists are responsible for handling sales of work(s). Library staff are happy to refer enquiries. Unfortunately, Goldsmiths Library cannot fund the production of works or hanging/installation but is usually able to endorse applications for additional funding. Goldsmiths Library will publicise the exhibition on its website and on the Goldsmiths event calendar. Goldsmiths Library is able to print a limited number of press releases (black and white) and a limited number of colour posters. Artists must provide a written statement and images for publicity by an agreed date. Goldsmiths Library is able to host an opening event, providing staffing. Drinks may be provided by the artist. Visitors who do not hold a Goldsmiths card can visit between 09.15 and 20.45 Monday-Friday and 11.30 - 17.00 Sat-Sun during term time. Visitors are advised to bring ID (proof of current address) for access. Goldsmiths’ Public Liability Insurance covers visitors to the University, however artists are responsible for insurance of works. Library staff will take care to minimise risk of theft or damage to works but cannot invigilate. Artists must be aware that the Library is used heavily and open 24/7. Artists must ensure that works are removed by an agreed take-down date Goldsmiths Library reserves the right to abort the exhibition if works pose a safety risk or impact negatively on Library users.
