The Peachland Community Arts Council (PCAC) welcomes and encourages Artisans of all Art forms, i.e. Literary, Performing and Visual arts. Art forms such as painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, glass etching, woodcarving, fabric arts, digital sound/video, and writing are warmly welcomed, as are artistic performances. Peachland Art Gallery in the “Mary Smith Hall” of the Peachland Historic Primary School on Beach Avenue An inaugural Gallery Opening is planned for public viewing in the Peachland Historic Primary School on Beach Avenue during the fall 2014, depending upon submissions. This event will showcase the diversity of art forms in our region. The newly renovated Peachland Historic Primary School on Beach Avenue, which houses the “Mary Smith Hall”, is an excellent venue to promote and recognize the Arts in our communities. The Peachland Gallery is in a prime location on the waterfront of Beach Avenue in downtown Peachland and shares the lakeside portion of the building with the Visitors’ Information Centre and Peachland Chamber of Commerce. All visual artists are encouraged to submit 5 pieces for adjudication. Requirements and Conditions: The attached application form should be accompanied by good quality jpeg files (minimum 1200 pixels longest side with a resolution of 72 pixels per inch) as attachments for each submission. If a video is being submitted, it should be able to be viewed on the Internet, a DVD, or be downloadable. Upon their work being accepted, all selected participants will be required to: 1. become members of the PCAC ($10) with payment upon delivery of the piece(s). 2. provide the PCAC with a Commission of 20% of the sales price to cover Gallery costs. NOTE: Non-acceptance of some of an artist’s work does not necessarily mean rejection but may be for lack of space. Those works can be considered for future exhibitions. Insurance: It is understood personal possession insurance coverage is the artisan's responsibility. As a non-profit organization, the PCAC cannot provide insurance but only volunteer-based security. The PCAC will not be responsible for loss or damage to any entries although all means possible will be taken by volunteers to protect the art works. No storage can be provided. A waiver form follows this application and, upon final delivery to the Gallery, will be required to cover all accepted entries. Please complete submission form OVER.
