Enrollment Check Sheet
Life Sciences First Year
Fall 2015
Use this check sheet in conjunction with the Enrollment Guide to keep track of the classes you plan to take in the fall.
You must keep track of your course selections so you are ready to start the actual enrollment process using MyPack.
Using the Enrollment Guide, I have identified the following classes for Fall 2015:
1. Biology Course Selection (or alternative): _________________________________________
2. Chemistry Course Selection (or alternative): _______________________________________
*If taking CH 101 don’t forget the corresponding lab ___________________________________________
3. Math Course Selection (or alternative): ___________________________________________
* If your math placement is MA 101 – email the advisors to discuss options for taking this course ASAP. MA 101 placement puts you
behind in math and chemistry courses required for the LSFY first year curriculum.
In addition, I will register for:
4. LSC 101
5. LSC 103 or
a. BCH 103 if you intend to declare a major in Biochemistry
b. PB 103 if you intend to declare a major in Plant Biology
6. Health and Exercise Science (optional)____________________________________________
Choose several that sound interesting – hopefully one will have space and will fit your schedule.
After completing the survey at the end of the Enrollment Guide, you can log into MyPack and use the Enrollment
Wizard (find tutorial link in the Enrollment Guide) to add courses to your shopping cart. You will need to be flexible
when searching for courses. Some sections of a particular course may already be full. If so, register for a section that is
not full. If all available sections of a required course are full, please email an LSFY advisor (LifeSciencesFY@ncsu.edu).
For some courses seats open periodically throughout the summer; and students will sometimes drop a course
opening a seat for someone else. If you are hoping to get into a class that is full when you first enroll, you should
return to MyPack on a regular basis and check for open seats in that class. It is also a good idea to get on the Wait List
if that is an option.
You should enroll in 15-16 credit hours; if you choose to enroll in more or fewer, contact the advisors (email below).
Please allow 2 business days after you complete the survey for an advisor to release your advising hold. You will NOT
be notified when your hold is lifted. You can see if your hold has been lifted by checking the “Student Center” in
MyPack. Your advising hold must be released before you will be able to click “enroll” in the Enrollment Wizard to sign
up for your selected courses. The enrollment window for fall courses opens for incoming students on June 8th; this is
the first day incoming students can enroll for fall classes – and you can only do so if your hold has been released.
Advisors will check your schedule during the month of June and will email with you with suggestions or concerns.
Please check your NCSU email account frequently, so you do not miss this important information.
NOTE IF YOU HAVE TRANSFER OR AP CREDIT: Be sure that transcripts from other institutions have been sent to
Admissions to process transfer credit. If you have AP credit coming to NC State, be aware that scores and credit will not
be available in our system until mid-July. If the Enrollment Guide indicated that you were eligible for a higher level
course based on these pending scores/credits, you will need to complete your enrollment in July once scores and
transfer credits are posted. In the meantime, we encourage you to take the NC State math and chemistry placement
tests, and use these scores to enroll in math and chemistry courses. You can change your schedule later this summer,
once AP scores have been processed.
If you have questions, email the LSFY Advisors at LifeSciencesFY@ncsu.edu
