IRISH DANCERS
Dear Parent,
Your child has been selected for a team! Listed below, are the teams, along with the
dance they are doing, and the practice schedule. Please read this CAREFULLY! We had
very little interest in teams this year, so I was not able to get everyone who tried out onto a
team. Some teams are coming at slightly different times than the other teams in their
category to help with long distance driving/ siblings. I try to keep all of that in mind, but
sometimes crazy schedules can not be helped! If for some reason I have your child
entered in an age group they are too old to dance in, please let me know immediately!
A few dancers came to try-outs at the wrong time and although we tried to keep track of
that, we may have missed/confused someone! Some teams may change a tiny bit once
practices start due to height etc (for those who couldn’t make the try out, I was ‘guessing’
at things like height). This will not change what dance or the competition number they will
dance in though.
All practices are scheduled to start April 28th and will be held at the Irish Center. I did try
to put together some practices at student locations where possible to make everyone’s
drive time/ schedule a bit less complicated. For those coming to the Irish Center when the
building is not “officially” open, enter through side door of small parking lot. There will be
roughly 5 practices before the Buffalo Feis. In some cases, teams that are progressing
really well, may be given a “night off”, but that is very rare. As listed in the try-out
information, all teams will be dancing at both the Buffalo Feis and Feis at the Falls (unless it
is not offered!). Please go to the Buffalo Feis website IMMEDIATELY and ADD your team
dance right away to avoid late fees. No changes/ additions to entries will be accepted
after May 12th so best to get it done right away as to avoid any problems.
Costumes: Please know that some teams will consist of dancers in the skirt/vest, combined
with those in the Ireland dress. THIS DOES NOT MATTER! Our costumes were designed to
match . .Judges do not mark off for this.
Team Fees are: $60 per dancer/$95 for two or more siblings. Please mail fees by May 15th

NOTE: Sunday teams will NOT have a practice on May 26th as we do not have dance class. We
will schedule a practice that Monday (May 27th) in the evening. There are no regular classes
scheduled due to Memorial day so stay tuned for time.
