Introductory Spanish 11 focuses on communication in a meaningful way. Students will retrieve, process, and adapt information from Spanish-language resources to complete authentic tasks and activities. This approach introduces materials that will enable students to use their skills in real life situations to communicate in Spanish. Our goal is to enjoy Spanish as a life-long skill in oral and written forms of the language. It is also important that the Latin culture is represented in a fun purposeful way.
You will need:
A binder with a full year supply of paper
A pen (blue or black), a pencil
A Spanish/English dictionary for home (recommended/optional). Dictionaries stay in the classroom.
We will be using Buen Viaje supplemented with Dime Uno . Textbooks are not permitted to leave the classroom.
Daily review is monitory. Languages need to be practiced and review every night is necessary to be a confident learner.
All assignments are to be completed on time.
Students are expected to complete any missed class work due to excused absence.

Cheating: Your teacher knows what you know!
☺
I know that learning a language is challenging. However, remember that everything I ask you to do has been practiced and reinforced in class. You have the skills to do every assignment in this class. Please don’t let the language scare you.
Cheating includes, but is not limited to:
Having someone do some or all of your work
Having a fluent Spanish speaker do your work for you
Copying someone else’s work
Using on-line translation sites.
Using ANYTHING or ANYONE but your own brain for exams
*If you turn in a paper with words and verb conjugations we have never used in class, I will assume you used a translation site or had a fluent Spanish speaker translate it for you. It will be an automatic zero and will require discipline as per OKM school policy. If you need help with a word, look it up in your book or dictionary, or you can ask me. Looking up the word in the dictionary will help you to remember it for next time.
I________________________________, have read the above information. I understand what cheating is and understand that it will not be tolerated in Senora Grant’s class. I understand that I may receive a zero for any assignment that I cheated on.
