margarets@friends-select.org Political Imagery Revolutionary Images Presentation (100 pts) Name:_______________________________________________________ DUE: Monday 20, 2015 For this presentation project you will use the resources of the Imaging the French Revolution digital archive project, and it’s partner project Exploring the French Revolution, to explore political imagery from the French Revolution..,, You will select one of the questions below to answer in a thesis driven presentations., and you will present your findings to the class in a ten-minute oral and visual presentation. Each presentation should answer one of the following questions: 1. How is authority represented during the French Revolution? 2. To what extent do revolutionary image makers co-opt or reject the visual styles of monarchists? 3. Is the political imagery of the French Revolution religious? 4. What role does gender play in the visual imagery of the French Revolution? 5. What is the relationship between gender roles in the French Revolution and gendered representations in revolutionary images? Your presentation must include a visual component, but the format is up to you (google presentation, power point, prezi). Presentations will be evaluated on the following: Have you answered the question with a clear thesis statement? Have you adequately supported your thesis with sound reasoning and specific evidence? Have you properly cited any outside images on your works cited slide in MLA format? Was your presentation ready at the start of class? (This means your files were uploaded to Haiku before the start of class so that you are ready to present as soon as class starts) Was your presentation clear, concise, and professional? Were you all in class at the start, ready to go? Were you poised (no gum, standing up straight, looking out at your classmates, no fidgeting, using appropriate language, staying focused and on point)? Were you able to prioritize your points so that you were able to present in the allotted time? Did you practice your presentation to make sure you can present in the allotted time? Were you comfortable fielding questions? Were you actively listening to your classmates’ presentations and asking them questions related to their topic in light of the theoretical readings? Presentations will be graded out of 100 points.
