JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: Tier 2/3 Desktop or Network Support to train as Pre Sales Engineer Communication & Collaboration REPORTS TO: Presales Manager EMEIA FUNCTION/DEPARTMENT: Operations LOCATION: London, UK PURPOSE: An excellent opportunity for those with a strong technical background to move into a more customer facing Presales role; You would be joining an established EMEA based sales engineering team and have a prime focus on, and be based in, London, but will interact with a sales team, prospects and customers across the globe on a daily basis. There are three key aspects to this role: Become an expert on our product portfolio (Full training given) Support the Sales team to specify the most appropriate solution Become our prospects/customers trusted advisor on communication and collaboration tools. This role is 50/50 between technical skills and customer facing skills, given that you have a strong technical background you will be provided the opportunity and support to develop the customer facing skills required to become a successful Pre-Sales Engineer. You will not be expected to lead a Sales interaction, but will take ownership of all ‘technical’ aspects of the interaction, from assisting during initial presentations through any trial period and finalizing UAT. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closely with the EMEA Sales Teams to ensure that workable solutions are identified to meet customer requirements, both Web & Audio. To accompany the sales team on customer meetings, assisting in the gathering of requirements and the provision of technical advice for audio and web conferencing opportunities. Act as a consultant and position the simplest and most effective solution to the customer with a focus on standard offerings. Create a high level Statement of Work (SOW) based on customer requirements and pass to implementation team. Understanding the business needs of your prospects, work closely with PGi teams; Product Management, Billing, Customer Services, Production Engineering, Network Engineering & Telco to define solutions. Presenting the appropriate solutions at customer meetings. Keeping well informed of general technical developments, company products and services. Take a leadership position in assessing customer IT environments, identifying and resolving issues. Support the deployment and integration of the PGi software portfolio into customer IT environments Maintaining accurate, up to date reporting using Salesforce. Ensuring that your product, technical and market knowledge is kept up to date by reading literature, networking, attending training courses, liaising with other colleagues and sharing unique knowledge with the rest of the company. Maintaining a positive and healthy attitude that contributes directly to the working environment of the sales team and the Company. Perform all other job-related tasks as assigned. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Good knowledge on desktop IT environments. Excellent knowledge on corporate IT environments. Good knowledge and understanding of Operating Systems, Networks, APIs, VoIP. Good knowledge of web industry and products.
