Dear Parents
Carol Singing Competition, Wollaton Hall – Sunday 29th November 2015
On Sunday 29th November 2015 the Great Christmas Show will be taking place at Wollaton Hall. I am proposing
to enter the Vocal Group into the carol singing competition, which will see us compete against fifty other schools.
This will be a fantastic opportunity for our group to perform to a general audience and receive critical feedback
from an expert judging panel. The event is supporting Rainbows, a local hospice for children and young people
and is one of our designated charities for this academic year.
There are a large number of prizes on offer. The winning choir will have a professional recording of their song
released for general sale and all proceeds donated to charity. Runner-up prizes include musical equipment and
various vouchers and tickets for attractions.
Pupils will be required to make their own way to and from Wollaton Hall. There will be no charge for this activity.
Entry for the general public is however ticketed – £5 for adults and £2 for children. A ticket will grant you access
to the whole Christmas Show on 28th/29th November and 5th/6th December. Timings for the day have yet to be
announced and will be confirmed nearer the time. Pupils will be required to wear formal school uniform. Please
complete and return the reply slip below if you wish your child to take part.

29th November 2015 at Wollaton Hall. I acknowledge the need for obedience and responsible behaviour on their
part. I understand that there is some level of risk in every activity but that this visit will be managed to minimise the
risks involved.
I acknowledge that I will be responsible for my child’s transport to and from the venue on the day.
