I am writing this letter to express my interest in the open Meter Reader position you currently
have advertised. Ever since graduating Northwest Lineman College and working in the field of
linework, it has been my ultimate dream and goal to begin work with your organization. Working
for Clallam County PUD would allow me to learn more about the line of work I am most
passionate about and with a company I would be honored to be a part of. Below you will find a
brief description of my skills, knowledge and abilities which I believe would make me an asset to
your company:





Knowledge. I have experience with handheld computer devices; I have been
trained on how to properly read a meter; I can navigate all areas of Clallam
County; I am comfortable working with the public and have excellent customer
service skills; I am comfortable working independently and as part of a crew;
Safety. I am trained in the proper use of hand tools; I can effectively make
decisions dealing with safety issues; I am certified in CPR/First Aid.
Physical Requirements.; I can repeatedly lift 100+ pounds and move in and out
of tight spaces; I am able to operate a motor vehicle, including any commercial
vehicle; I am flexible, have manual dexterity, and excellent hand-eye
coordination; I can move quickly and be on my feet all day; I can pass all
requirements of a pre-employment physical.
Certifications. I hold certifications in climbing, forklift operation, emergency
rescue (pole top, vault, and aerial lift) first aid/ CPR, safety fundamentals and
have a Class A CDL.
Flexibility. I am available for 24 hour call out, can accept on-call duties, and can
work extended hours on nights, weekends and holidays; I am available for any
shift; I can assist other departments as needed; I am experienced in working in
adverse weather conditions; I am immediately available for travel as needed.
