We met so many new families at
BBQ picnic, as well as, had the
opportunity to say hi and catch
up with our returning ones. The
front lawn was filled with
excitement, laughter and of
course, hot dogs!
We plan on continuing our annual
Meet and Greet Social every year
as it allows us not only all to meet
one another, build community,
and also prepares us for the first
day of school because your child
already knows who their
classroom teacher is going to
be. We also hope the Back to
School Letter that was sent out
before the first day of school
was helpful and provided you
with the information that you
needed.
We would like to give a special
thank you to Intel for their
donation, our dedicated office
staff, Carmichael staff, and the
25 volunteers from Crossroad’s
Church who donated their time
& energy at the BBQ social to
start the 2015-16 year off right!
Go Cougars!
1st- 5th Back to School Night 8/26
On Wednesday, August 26th from 5:30-7:00 we will have our 1st-5th grade Back to
School Night. This is an opportunity for you to meet your child’s teacher, know the
expectations for the grade level, as well as learn about policies and procedures
of the class and school. We also look forward to meeting you!
Back to School Night will begin at 5:30 in the Multi-Purpose room where we will
introduce you to our entire Carmichael Staff as well as share important
information about upcoming events.
Please understand that teachers will only have time for their presentations and
will not have much time for talking to families individually. However, you can
always set call or email your child’s teacher to set a time to meet. I look forward
to seeing you at Back to School Night.
Please note TK-Kindergarten Parent in the Know Night is on
Monday, August 31st from 5:30-7 pm.

Safety School News
Each month we schedule fire drills in order to practice how to evacuate in
case of a fire. We are having our first fire drill in the month of August.
We will instruct the children to remain calm and to walk, quickly and
quietly to the designation area with their teachers. Our goal for our drill
is to evacuate safely within two minutes.
Next month, we will schedule a lock-down drill to practice securing the
school in case of an emergency.
By having monthly drills, we are preparing our students for any
emergencies that may arise.

School Site Council-Members
Needed!
School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents, administrators, and
interested community members who work together to develop and
monitor a school's improvement plan. It is a legally required decisionmaking body for any school receiving federal funds. The council meets
once a month at a time that is convenient for the members usually
before or after school. Carmichael is looking for parents and
community members who are interested in serving on this important
council. Please fill out the slip below and return to your child’s teacher
tomorrow.
I am interested in being a member of School
Site Council. Please put my name on the
ballot.
