Public Works employees prepare for storm There has been a major change in our weather today but the change will be short lived as temperatures will rebound into the upper 40s tomorrow A cold front has arrived bringing wet snow to the area, along with high winds. Snow is not expected to be particularly heavy with this storm (just an inch or two) but sustained winds with gusts up to 38 mph are causing visibility problems in areas. Temperatures are rapidly falling and will reach the point at which snow will start accumulating later today. Temperatures drop into the teens tonight so icing may be an issue late in the day. Public Works employees are loading de-icing materials into trucks now so that streets can be treated rapidly if ice begins to form on the roadways. A group of 32 employees has been scheduled to work through the night if needed for applying chemicals to the roads.
