Dear Member
Welcome to Normandy Tennis Club!
We hope you will enjoy playing tennis with us and find the following information
useful. If you have any queries please call or email any of the committee members
whose contact details are listed on the notice board outside the clubhouse and on the
website: www.normandytennisclub.co.uk
CLUB SESSIONS
The Club has two open sessions every week where all members (with some
exceptions * ) can come along, meet other members and enjoy a game.
 WEDNESDAY 0930 ~ a “social” tennis session where we have a few games
and then stop for tea and cake at about 11am. We carry on until 1pm or until
everyone has played enough. It’s a lovely way to spend a morning and meet
other members of the club.
 THURSDAY 1930 ~ a general club session where tennis is the main focus.
The floodlights on all three courts allow us to enjoy a game all year round
(weather permitting).
DURING THESE TIMES IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO BOOK THE COURTS FOR INDIVIDUAL USE
COURT KEYS
If you prefer to play outside the club sessions you can book the courts at any time
(providing they are available). A key for the court and the clubhouse is available
from the Club Treasurer on payment of a refundable deposit of £12.00
BOOKINGS
The courts may be booked by any member at any time by following the links on our
website. (There is no charge for booking.)
* Exceptions apply :
1. Class “U” members are only permitted to use courts during University
holidays.
2. “Social” members.
3. Class “D” members (under 8 years old) may only use courts in the presence of
an adult member, this is for their own safety. The Committee also
recommends that any child under 14 years should be accompanied by an
adult.
4. The Club’s Lease provides that Court 3 (lower court) is made available for use
by the general public. So from 2 – 6pm on Saturdays and 2 – 7pm on
Wednesdays members will not be able to book this court.
NB: There is a padlock on Court 3 the code is 1986
FLOODLIGHTS
These can be operated by placing tokens in the meter on the wall inside the
clubhouse. Tokens are available from Robin Bartlett and cost £1.50 each, lasting half
an hour. Contact details are on the website and on the notice board outside the
clubhouse.
CLUBHOUSE
Court keys also allow access to the clubhouse available to all members. We ask
everyone to keep it clean and tidy.
COACHING
Our Junior Section is run by our club coach Tim Seymour. He can be contacted for
information about all the junior events and coaching times at:

JUNIORS
Normandy along with Pirbright and Worplesdon Tennis Clubs established the
Grand Slam Junior Programme in 2010. This delivers junior activities outside of
their normal coaching sessions. Run by trained Tennis Leaders, these activities cater
to all age-groups and include Club Mornings/Afternoons, Box Leagues and
Tournaments. The programme runs from Spring to October half terms.
Details can be found on the website - www.grandslamjuniortennis.co.uk
MATCHES
We are members of the Aldershot and District LTA Tennis League and play both
winter and summer matches against other clubs. We currently have Ladies’ A, Men’s
A,B & C and Mixed-Doubles A & B Teams and we are always looking for new
players. Please talk to a member of the committee if you are interested in putting
your name forward.
GUESTS
Members may bring a guest to use the courts. A charge of £2 per hour, per person is
payable to the Club Treasurer and each member is limited to three guest visits per
year. Should guests wish to play more often the Committee would encourage them
to join the club.
BALLS
Good quality used balls are available in the clubhouse for members’ use. Please
return these after use.
WIMBLEDON CHAMPIONSHIPS
As we are affiliated to the LTA, the Club get an allocation of Wimbledon Tickets
each year. A draw to buy tickets is held every year shortly before the Tournament.
Members will be notified of the details by email.
