Prison Arts Foundation seeks to recruit an Executive Director, this post is initially
for 9 months and will be extended subject to funding.

£35,430 NJC PO4 point 42 per annum pro rata, to 37.5 hours per week

Main purpose of the post

To direct and manage the operations and development of the Prison Arts
Foundation, achieving agreed budgets and maintaining financial stability.

To implement the strategic goals and objectives of the Prison Arts Foundation

With the chairman, enable the Board to fulfil its governance function

To give direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Prison Arts
Foundation's philosophy, mission, strategic plan, and its annual goals and
objectives
Major Duties of the post include:
1. Board Administration and Support -- Supports operations and administration of Board by
advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board, staff and contracted artists.
2. Program, Product and Service Delivery -- Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery
and quality of programs, products and services: to include provision of services to major
stakeholders and buyers, production and exhibition of artworks, and co-ordination of training,
seminars and conferences for the Foundation.
3. Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management -- Recommends yearly budget for Board
approval and prudently manages organization's resources within those budget guidelines
according to current laws and regulations. Oversees administration of accounts and incoming
and outgoing invoicing.
4. Human Resource Management -- Effectively manages the human resources including office
Support and Research Staff of the organisation according to authorised personnel policies and
procedures that fully conform to current laws and regulations.
5. Community and Public Relations -- Assures the organization and its mission, programs,
products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive image to relevant
stakeholders. This includes representing the Foundation at public events, at industry
conferences and seminars, and engaging in research projects relevant to the work of the
Foundation.
6. Fundraising -- Oversees fundraising planning and implementation, including identifying
resource requirements, researching funding sources, establishing strategies to approach
funders, submitting proposals and administrating fundraising records and documentation.
7. Contract Acquisition – Oversees and directs acquisition of contracts through invitations to
tender, including consultation with relevant organisations and advisers, researching current
practice, establishing full compliance with requirements of tender, submitting bids and
administrating all records and documentation.
8. Contracted Artists – Secures and maintains the contracts with artists to ensure the delivery
of all contracted and funded arts programs.
9. Other duties as required in order to maintain the smooth operation of the Foundation.
Hours
The post holder will be required to work 28 hours per week. The post holder will be required to
work outside of normal working hours, in which case, a Time Owed In Lieu (TOIL) system
operates for hours worked outside the 28 hours by arrangement with the Chairman.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential criteria
1.
Third level qualification in an Arts Discipline
2.
Recognised qualification in management / financial management or be able to
demonstrate experience working at this level.
3.
Significant experience in Project Management
4.
Evidence of achieving targets and delivery of programs over 5 year period
5.
Demonstrate the ability to manage a web based facility to promote PAF activities
6.
Demonstrate computer literacy in a range of computer programmes including Microsoft
Office, Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Publisher
7.
The post holder must be willing and able to travel both inside and outside Northern
Ireland and have access to a form of transport so as to be able to undertake the full
range of duties of the post.
A minimum period of 3 months probation will be required.
