COLLEGE OF PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS SCHOLAR OF THE YEAR AWARD PURPOSE The College of Performing and Visual Arts Scholar of the Year Award is awarded each year to a faculty member of excellence. The recipient is recognized at a university reception, serves as the College Banner Bearer at Convocation, Graduate and Undergraduate Commencement Ceremonies and receives a stipend. SELECTION PROCESS 1. The PVA Dean’s Office announces a call for nominations asking for the name of the faculty member. The call for nomination is sent in early February. 2. The PVA Dean’s Office notifies all nominees and requests the following materials: Current curriculum vitae Summary of this year’s professional activity copied from curriculum vitae. 3. Nominees can elect to withdraw their name from consideration. 4. All nominee support material is provided to the Dean’s Faculty Advisory Committee for review and vote/recommendation. 5. The Dean’s Faculty Advisory Committee (DFAC) recommendation. 6. The PVA Dean reviews the DFAC recommendation and makes the final selection. 7. The PVA Scholar of the Year recipient is notified and the selection is announced via e-mail and at the spring All College meeting.
