COMMUNITY SCHOOLS PROGRAM Title: Director of Community Schools Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Education or related Field Twelve years of Administrative Experience Bilingual Spanish/English Skills a plus This senior – level administrator leads and oversees the implementation of the Children’s Aid Society’s Community Schools Programs. Responsibilities: Plan the direction of the CAS’s Community Schools, in consultation with the CAS Executive leadership. Plan and direct hiring, management and development of community schools personnel. Directly supervise the Associate Director of Community Schools, the Director of Fiscal Operations, the Director of Community Schools Basketball Initiative, and the Director of Educational Services. Develop, maintain and nurture relationships and partnerships with Department of Education administration. Lead the Community Schools efforts to develop and implement ongoing professional development and capacity building for community schools directors. Responsible for leading the Community Schools efforts to plan for and implement program development. Responsible for leading Community Schools’ efforts to develop and implement the expansion of community schools. Oversee annual budget preparation and ensure that systems developed to provide oversight and management of budgets and business operations are sustained and enhanced. Conduct joint planning and decision making with colleagues who carry responsibility for related programs in other CAS departments. Represents Community Schools at public forums, including local school board meetings in community meetings and events. Participates in Technical Assistance activities.
