Part-time Student Programmers
Graduate/Undergraduate Students
(not to exceed 1000 hours for the year)

databases are recognized by chemical and pharmaceutical companies, universities, government
organizations, and patent offices around the world as the gold standard for chemical information.
Combining these databases with advanced search and analysis products and services, including
SciFinder®, STN®, and Science IP®, CAS delivers the most complete, cross-linked, and effective digital
information environment for scientific discovery.
Requirements:
Course work toward a Computer Science degree. Sophomore experience minimum; at least 18 months
remaining until graduation
•Experience with a subset of these technologies is a plus: OOAD, Java, (JEE, Spring,
EclipseRCP) C, C++, Perl, Tcl, ClearCase, Ant, Maven, Hudson, UNIX, Microsoft Windows, Shell,
HTML, HTTP, Oracle and XML
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
•Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
•Chemistry Skills desired
Duties:
Provide support for systems development projects (may include writing software, QA testing of software,
or support of existing software). Many of these assignments involve support for existing projects and
completing Small Project Requests. Assignments will be of growing complexity depending on skills
