1 of 2 Application Checklist for StepUP Thanks for your interest in the Augsburg College StepUP Program. What follows are the necessary steps for applying to the College, to StepUP, and to the CLASS Program (if applicable). You must be admitted to Augsburg College and accepted into StepUP to become a StepUP participant. StepUP beds are available on a first-come first-served basis. Augsburg College Admission Requirements top 50th percentile or higher in graduating high school class and/or; 2.5 high school GPA (for entering freshmen) and/or; 2.2 college GPA (for entering transfer students) and/or; a score of 70 or higher on each section of the GED exam and/or; an ACT score of 22 or higher and/or; a combined score of 1000 or greater on the SAT exam 1 Apply to the College Office of Undergraduate Admissions Augsburg College 2211 Riverside Avenue South, campus box 143 Minneapolis, MN 55454 tel: (612)330-1001 or toll free 1-800-788-5678 fax: (612)330-1590 www.augsburg.edu 2 Allow yourself two months to complete the entire application process. Complete and submit your Augsburg College application, including all requested materials, such as the personal essay and two letters of academic recommendation. Contact your Admissions Counselor and stay in contact with him/her. Arrange for your SAT, ACT, or GED score to be mailed directly to Admissions at the above address. Arrange for college and/or high school transcripts to be mailed directly to Admissions at the above address. Ask your Admissions Counselor which transcripts are required. Submit all components of your Augsburg application directly to the Admissions Office. Interview with the Director or Assistant Director of StepUP. Telephone interviews are available for applicants at a distance. Review the StepUP Student Contract with your interviewer. Sign and return the Contract to the StepUP office within seven business days after your interview. The Contract is mandatory and must be signed and submitted before you will be considered for StepUP acceptance. revised 2/6/16 2 of 2 3 Arrange for 1 - 2 individuals to complete and return the StepUP Recommendation Form. The Recommendation Form is also mandatory and must be submitted before you will be considered for StepUP acceptance. Inform us if your sobriety date changes after your StepUP interview. Apply to the CLASS Program (Center for Learning and Adaptive Student Services) This office helps you with learning, physical or psychiatric disabilities. Send in the CLASS Prospective Student Information form (from the Information Packet). Arrange for a meeting with a CLASS specialist to talk about your needs. Telephone interviews are available for applicants at a distance. Bring a copy of your most recent disability diagnostics (no more than three years old) to your initial CLASS appointment. When officially admitted to the College by the Admissions office Send the $100 enrollment deposit to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (see address, side 1). This secures a spot for you within the incoming Augsburg class of students. When your enrollment deposit has been received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions you will be mailed the following a. Residence Life housing contract, and b. College Orientation and Course Registration dates and information Telephone the Undergraduate Admissions office if you have not received the above information within 1 - 2 weeks after submitting the enrollment deposit.
